I've taken our Pomeranian to Sandy Oaks three times now for grooming. After giving a couple of groomers a try in the CC area I branched out in my search on here and found Sandy Oaks. They are definitely worth the drive to Rockport. The same groomer has taken care of Fred all three times and has done a fantastic job each time. The business is located outside of Rockport by a few miles. The owners have created a beautiful establishment! You pull in and see that they have gone all out to create a comfortable place for the dogs they care for. It's really so nice! I haven't toured the facility but, from what I've seen, there are large, fenced play areas outside. It is in a wooded area so the entire outdoor area is shaded. As I've only dropped Fred off for grooming, I've only gone so far as the greeting/waiting area. Plenty of attention to detail was put into the decor here. Artwork, books about dogs, even the pillows have dogs on them. It's nice and clean, and each employee that I've encountered has been so friendly and helpful. I can only speak for the prices for Fred's grooming. We do ask for a specific cut for him. For $40 he is bathed, cut, ears are cleaned, and, if asked, his anal glands will be expressed. $40! In addition to the wonderful grooming job, I have felt completely comfortable leaving Fred with them. This says a lot considering my intense (and probably irrational) paranoia concerning Fred. You can tell that they CARE. I am so happy to have found this business and have already suggested them to someone else who has had a hard time finding anyone trustworthy (or worthy of the ridiculous prices they charge) in the CC area.

Happy to give these folks a 5 Star. Once you drive up you will see the place is a great place for dogs. Lots of shade trees and a pond. When you enter the office staff is friendly and I bet if you are like me, you can't take your eyes off the big screen dog video behind the counter. Our 20# and 65# dogs went in for 2 nites and 2 days. Plus the 20#er with the curls got THE BEST wash/shampoo ever! Got to find out what they used on him.I visited another kennel in town first but upon arriving at Sandy Oaks and getting a tour of the kennels, no comparison.Wish this Kennel was in my town. Ask Stacy to sing you a song. She owes me one.

100% satisfaction with Sandy Oaks. Our two large pups are our babies, and they are well taken care of during their stays. It's wonderful to have the reassurance that our babies are in good hands while we're traveling. Our pups get so excited when we pull up to Sandy Oaks. On top of that, the customer service is wonderful. It's awesome working with people that love our dogs as much as we do.

We have a white shepherd that suffers from separation anxiety and can be high strung in new places. He loved it here and the staff were wonderful with him. He had a great two days socializing, playing in the water, and generally getting all of that puppy energy out. You could tell he had a great time because when we picked him up he was loving on the staff as much as he was us. Fantastic and affordable service too - definitely include the water option if you have a water loving dog! We are already planning his next stay.

Be aware of the fact that the dogs are not monitured . My dog recently was attacked on a thursday. The next day I talked personnally with the manager Kirsten promiseed my dog would not be put with the same grouop. i picked him up that afternoon. He had been mauled. required surgery and stuchers to wo different areas. punctures and scratches all over his body. They didn't enven bother to contact me when it happened. Also be well aware of their kennal polocy . Dogs are let up to 14 hrs in thier kennal without anyone on site. I will never take my dog there again. For Sandy Oaks its about the money not the care of the animals . my contact 830 237 4471

Sandy Oaks has a fee structure that promotes extra charges on your bill. If you drop off before 11:00 am there is a $15 extra charge. If you pick up after 1:00 pm there is a $35. Obviously, if you need to board your dog, you are leaving the area and want to leave early, so you get that charge. When returning, you are far enough away that you might not get there before 1:00, so you can get that charge. They allow you to pick up your dog on Sunday evening but charge you through Monday morning. So be aware of the extra charges.

They are not adding new patients. Sad. I just called and they told me that. I was really hoping to get my dog in. :(

Compared to other kennels in the area, Sandy oaks has the best curb appeal and amenities for pets. We were impressed with the yard area and the shade trees. Our schnauzer is smelling good and looking trim after her haircut/Bath. Thanks for the excellent customer service provided!
