Salty Dog Saloon

This place is really nice. Went day drinking. I'm sure the night life would be great. Nice and big building My negative is that you can smoke, but that's a okay b/c I would come back.

We've been coming to Salty Dog for years! We look forward to visiting every time we are in Port Aransas. On this particular trip, Sam was behind the bar and made us feel so welcome! We made a point to come back the next evening when she was working. She made our visit very entertaining. Keep up the good work Salty Dog!

Didn't try any food. Bartending service was slow. Ambiance was fun and had a great time with a few locals.

They didn't serve food here, which was OK. We didn't go for food. The service was good. The Sweet bartender was on top of everything since she was the only bartender. The ambience was great. It was a very fun bar. They had pool shuffleboard karaoke. it was a really good time, we met a few locals. We will definitely be back the next time. We are in Port A!

We had a lot of fun here! The karaoke was super fun. I didn't sing but very clearly they were having a good time, it was like a big sing along with the crowd. It was very cool to see how everyone was supportive. There was lots of dancing, some larger parties (bachelor/bachelorette parties). Drinks are cold and music good. We met a ton of people and had a great time. We will definitely be back.

Go here! Just passing through town, this was unexpected, but what a fun night!! Some of these locals can sure sing their hearts out! Everyone was having a great time!

Do not start a tab at this bar!! As a bartender from Austin, TX, I'm well aware of what a hold is on a tab, and have seen them be $1, $5, 10, even $20 before. This place does a $50 hold on your card!! Which just blows my mind honestly. My transaction for the held tab cleared within a day or two. The $50 hold has been there for five days total now. That's crazy to me. My main critique other than the ridiculously high hold is that there is no camaraderie among the bartenders. We waited for the same bartender in the same spot at two different points, the first time she served us. The next time she told us "you're on THIS side of my cash register, so that makes you her problem", and she was talking about the other bartender in her same vicinity! My guess is each bartender has their own drawer, as one of the bartenders at the smaller bar by the entrance said they couldn't access our tabs that were started at the other horseshoe bar. But that's ludicrous to me, there's plenty of business in there on the weekends that it would probably be more beneficial (to their tip average and faster service for customers) if they all just pooled tips, and worked together under the same system. Keep them cashing stuff out of their respective drawers sure, but not having access to all tabs in a bar that busy on a weekend, is ludicrous. The wait time just to get to the front of the line for a drink was over ten minutes as a result of their system of service went. Let alone the make time. There simply were not enough bartenders on a Friday night (only 2 per bar, easily could have been 3) to handle the amount of customers that were lined up around the bar on all sides. And then to add the $50 hold on there is just insult to the rest of the inhospitable experience overall. The patrons were a good time and welcoming, the atmosphere was fun and boisterous overall. Karaoke was a good enough vibe. Music was somewhat dated, but overall it was fun.

Music wasn't too loud, but loud enough to dance to. Beers were good price and cold. Darts. Free darts. Still looking for a bar like this closer to home.I went here over spring break and while it may have been cold outside. It felt like pure vacation on the inside (just with long sleeves)

If you want to have fun and drink do not come here. Order a round of shots and you will get kicked out do not come here. The most uncomfortable and worst service I have ever received. Oh and if your Hispanic you are not welcomed here. We sat at the table causing no trouble only to literally get kicked out because we ordered to many drinks For the whole table. What business would ever be upset over that. They appreciate the high bill but will not provide good service. I will never recommend this place.

Always a great time. We come here every time we visit Port A. Great service and nice dance floor.
