Sabor Y Vida Mexican Food

I decided to try a new spot for breakfast tacos this morning, and I found a gem! The picadillo is the best in town- melt in your mouth tender with tiny diced veggies and no grease! The bacon, egg, and potato tacos were also top notch- crispy edges on the potatoes, a perfectly cooked egg, and really good bacon.While checking out I saw that they have pozole, so they fixed a bowl of it for me to go. It tasted amazing with just the right amount of heat, and it was loaded with hominy and meaty pork.The husband and wife who run the place were also very kind and have been in thr area for a long time! I will be back and highly recommend giving Sabor y Vida a try!They also have a great lunch special with tea included!

Food was delicious! Service was great! Will definitely be coming back! I had their Menudo and Barbacoa and I can say it is the best in San Marcos. My husband had pastor and carnitas and agrees that this is our new favorite little spot in San Marcos.

I had high hopes for this place after seeing the stellar reviews, but I'm afraid it did not even remotely meet expectations. I will say that the chips were good - warm and crispy, with a nice bubbly texture- but beyond that, the food was mediocre to below average. Salsa was decent, but the queso was like plain Velveeta with nothing added to it. I ordered pozole, which was an alarming shade of red. The flavor was OK, but quite salty and lacking in spice. I also got a beef crispy taco, which tasted odd. The shell was limp and somewhat stale and the meat was pink, mushy, and flavorless. My partner ordered the combination plate and was similarly unimpressed. Service was fine and prices were low, but I'm afraid I won't be back.

The food is so good and the owners are very nice and friendly. We will certainly be back and try other items on the menu.

Food was delicious! Service was awesome! We will definitely be back and try breakfast. My husband had mini tacos with barbacoa & pastor, he said they were delicious. I had shrimp fajita tacos, very yummy with lots of flavor!
