S & J Fence

Absolutely the most arrogant individual I've ever spoken to. Chad Turner from S&J - email states he's a sales guy; however, by phone he claims to be the owner. Every request for assistance was that he's too busy and had 50 other people ahead in que for a quote.This is not a small project (4 phases) and first phase is the smallest of all 4.Rather than provide an estimate, he sends a link to the online estimator and says here, you can do it and add 20% because you're "out of town".Site quoted $8700 + an additional 20% up charge because we reside 45 mins away. $2000 to drive 45 minutes. Same product from another vendor of the same product out of California (exact same product) quoted $4000 and free shipping.S&J is NOT worth the difference of $6k. Shop around. This guys ego is the size of his inflated costs!!

Don't get a wood privacy fence from them. Mine is 3 years old. The pickets are bowed, warped, curled, popping of the nails. The entire fence line is warped. Their warranty is useless and they have no interest whatsoever in even discussing it. That was $13,500 down the proverbial toilet. A GOOD privacy fence should last longer than 3 years. I even went behind them and stained/sealed this fence. The cross pieces are bowed. There are so many knot holes per board that the integrity is compromised. They claim to use quality wood. They do not. Their "customer service" is smug, rude and condescending.

Asked to give estimate of swinging gate with motorized arm. VP of operations stated would need to replace arm, post, and brace with additional fencing, when the only problem was the gate swung low and needed adjustment. Ridiculous to over estimate such a simple problem. I will not do business with such.
