Rockport Marine

It seems only in small towns you find businesses and people like are at Rockport Marine. Now, you can find lower prices & larger selections elsewhere, but what you wont find is knowledge, customer service and the mindset of building, fostering and maintaining relationships.I have been coming to Rockport Marine for a few years for parts for my boats and older motors. When it came time to re-power and I talked to local guides and others, the universal answer was "to go to Rockport Marine."Re-Power estimate was spot on with invoice even though they missed a couple items needed and even replaced an item they said they damaged, even though it was minor and only cosmetic and likely a result of the age of the item, not technician malfeasance or carelessness. Jeff insisted they replace it on their dime against my objection to do so as I didn't feel it warranted.Now, there were a couple of minor issues upon delivery which when found they owned and promptly corrected. A man 's or business's ability to own up to their mistakes speaks to character. Support after the sale has been epic as well, thus far and I expect in the future. The owners of the business are on site every day they are opened and will step in to take care of you if they need to, another quality not found at larger big box type places. Like one local fishing guide told me, I will tell you. Go to Rockport Marine and go nowhere else. If they don't have what you need, wait for it and let them get it. The marginal amount more you might pay is worth the level of service and support the provide.

Told me they wont work on any boat 10 years and older, Must dont need the business. I take my boat some where else. They just shot them selves in the foot when it comes time to sell me a new boat.

This organization has earned my trust and my business. They worked on my twin 300Yamahas. I took my empty trailer to their yard and drove my boat to the local ramp where they hooked it up and took it to their yard (this is all located by Cove Harbor in Rockport.) They did great work, on time and according to their quote. I told them I was trying to line up a small flats boat. They had one coming in that I could have first look at. They had offers for ir sight unseen (only pictures.) They kept their word and I ended up buying it even though they had offers from others. We had a small hiccup with the trolling motor that had nothing to do with them. They actually came out to my home to verify and load test the motors. You just do not get this type of service from many companies. I highly recommend them.

Rockport Marine has always taken care of my needs in a timely matter! Will continue to do business with them!

I stopped by two weeks ago to ask Josh about putting our cavitation plate back on our flats boat. He said to bring it by the next time I was in Rockport and I came back on Friday (6/19/15) and everyone was busy because of the TX Game Wardens fishing tournament that weekend. Josh still squeezed me in even though this was a small job and I've never even been a customer there before this! Great service and great job on the installation.Thanks,Paul BrickAustin, TX

I've own several bay boats for the last 20 years and have routinely used mechanics to help me with my Marine needs. Rockport and Marine and service used to have a gentleman by the name of Dan who was a very honest and trustworthy person and charged fair across-the-board on all their services. Dan apparently tired and there's new management that with my present experience misrepresented and over charge me greatly for the services they provided. If you feel the need to use this company. Make sure you find out what they charge upfront before you allow them to do any services. Also make it clear not to do any work that you do not direct. They not only overcharge me but they did work I did not ask them to do and they wouldn't release my boat until I've made my payment. Be aware. From a Very disappointed customer

Great place! They got us back out on the water late one Saturday afternoon. We were having a fuel issue and a tech came out and helped us out got us back out on the water. He even loaned us his personal gas tank just so we could go out and fish for a while. you just don't find that kind of service anymore! Thank you!

I took my boat to Rockport Marine because it was not starting.  2 months and $2,500 later, they still have my boat and have not been able to repair or identify the issue.  I have dropped off my boat three separate times for the same issue and each time I have been told the boat is repaired and is ready to be picked up.  The mechanic told me he took the boat out five days in a row each time he "repaired" it, for a total of 10 test drives, and he said it started each time. Every time I have gone to pick my boat up after a repair attempt, I immediately took the boat out and it would not start, leading me to believe the mechanic is not taking the boat out to test it like he says.  After replacing several parts that did not fix the problem, they finally decided to submit a service ticket to Evinrude for assistance in fixing the problem.  Why would that not have been done before I spent $2,500 on parts and labor that may not have been necessary?I have made multiple requests to speak with a manager or owner and he is always out of the office and has never returned my calls. I have owned boats for over 40 years and have never had an experience like this any time I've taken a boat in for repair.

I went here for a gallon of hard to find Evinrude XD 100 outboard oil. I purchased one gallon and the salesman said bring back the empty jug to save quite a bit of money per gallon. So I got two gas jugs and returned. Not only did they sell me five gallons of oil for less than I've ever seen it, they took back the higher priced gallon I bought earlier. Then they gave me a fishing tip. Nice store, really nice people. I will go back.
