Gosh do I wish I had pictures of the actual building to contribute. One of the reviewers from many years ago mentioned that the old location was destroyed in Hurricane Harvey and they were looking to fundraise for building a new site. The new building is certainly something out of a far busier metropolitan area art museum and a gorgeous place to spend part of your day. With three main gallery spaces, several art-displaying corridors between, a large conference/meeting room space, and a spacious outdoor patio area, this building is clearly meant to be multipurpose (we saw the outdoor patio space used for a wedding while we were there!) We happened to walk in on a gallery talk day from a local artist and were thrilled to see so many folks milling about taking in the art. I appreciate that this collection really shines a light on local culture and seems more for the local artisan community than posturing purely for economic gain in the region. That authenticity is what keeps people coming back, and purchasing, from galleries like these.

Local art gallery! This gallery is themed around the Rockport Art Festival, and locally themed art. They have lots of scenic paintings and drawings of places around Rockport- lots of birds, fish, seashores, boats, and sea life. The city picks a winning artist for each year's festival, and they have a big celebration around art. This gallery features most of the past years' winners of the art contests. This gives an appreciator of art a good sense of who the local artists are, and what there is to see around Rockport! The retro style on the exterior opens up to a sleek, cozy and modern gallery with amazing wood floors. The staff was pleasant, and kept rather busy while I strolled through the gallery. There's also a small gift shop here to pick up prints, or other Rockport themed merchandise. There's no admission charge, and they're quite welcoming to visitors. You'll find plenty of parking from which you can explore the arts district, and even a piano under a shade on the side of the street to express your creativity on.

We've been visiting the Art museum since I was a kid, Harvey completely ruined the last location they were in which was so sad! They are in a much smaller location for now until they can rebuild from fundraising - they never charge admission though! Defiantly stop by to see the art though. It's still awesome!!

When you come for the festival, it always has a big display of the featured Rockport Art Festival artist. Also several pieces by other artists, including a little gift shop with the festival posters and postcards. Good place to stop by for souvenirs and a little AC.

You 'd think it's more prestigious than the Louvre with how serious the vibe is. They should hand out t-shirts Proud Member of the RP/F Art Snob Association. Go enjoy and have a laugh at the little art town that thinks it's the Met! 5 stars for the entertainment. It's oh so serious!

The new building is amazing and the art sculptures out side are so interesting. No admission and displays are changed regularly. Will be back. Also the Daily Grind is just right around the corner so convenient
