Everyone working in the restaurant was great. It wasn't that the food was bad but not hot, For $35.00 for a buffet, not really any kind of choices, no butter or jelly on the table, they put the table decorations on the table right before we left.My granddaughter had one Mimosa and was charged $15.00 our bill was $300.00 for 5 people.

I stopped by Dido's Restaurant Yellowstone Paddlewheeler with the fam on a Thursday for dinner. I don't often go to the Lake Jackson area but I'm happy I did. Dido's is a bit of a drive but well worth it. They don't have a dedicated parking lot but there is plenty of parking available right by the restaurant. As we walked in, we decided to sit on the patio which gives you a nice view of the Brazos River. Thursday is both karaoke night and thirsty Thursday. The karaoke is out on the patio. While I'm not a fan of karaoke, they did have some good singers out there including a group of regulars who have their own band. They tried to get us to participate but we passed. Thirsty Thursday offers buy one, get one free on both cocktails and beer. I went with two cocktails. Since Dido's is by the river, they specialize in seafood. I started out with the seafood nachos which come with cheese, pico de gallo, and crawfish. This was an appetizer but it was entree-sized! I'm a big fan of crawfish, especially when I don't have to peel it, so I enjoyed this dish. For my main dish, I had the rock shrimp served with fries. The menu describes the shrimp as tasting like lobster so this was a no-brainer for me. The waitress complimented me on my selection and the menu was right. This is a special kind of shrimp that you have to peel and it's served with a warm butter sauce just like lobster is classicly prepared. A great dish and I'm happy my adventurous side came out to try something new!Service was great. Our waitress ended up being the owner, a charming woman who bought the restaurant a while back. She also owns a bed & breakfast if you're trying to make it an overnight stay after venturing out to the area. She was super friendly and gave us a nice history of the Brazos River which was great. Last but not least, she also owns a river cruise boat. They have a multi-course meal on the cruise which sounded like a lot of fun. Now here's a date idea if you're trying to do something outside-of-the-box. I ended the night with Jello-O shots because how can you say no to $1 shots?! Another Thursday special. I only asked for one but they hooked me up with four which was super nice of them! I will say the Yelp reviews are not good for this spot but I had a wonderful experience and would return.

What a great find! Here we were, birding in the Texas Gulf Coast area, and needed a lunch spot near San Bernard National Wildlife Area. Yelp offered up this place and we went for it. Great spot on the river with large dining areas inside and out. The staff is sharp, welcoming, and extremely efficient. We had a Dido Burger and a Mediterranean Salad with grilled chicken. Mike says the burger is a sublime meaty, cheesy, mushroomy delight! Great fries. My salad was great; romaine, tomatoes, some feta, garbanzos, and zippy capers with Sumac vinaigrette- trust me, it is so good - with delicious grilled chicken. See photos attached. I would happily return any day, for any meal. Gotta try that amazing fried shrimp when I get a few pounds lighter.

I don't even know how we found this cute spot. We drove out here about 45 minutes and it was worth the drive. When we walked in they were so happy to see us it felt like they knew us lol. I knew from the staff personalities I was going to like the place. We sat outside and our server was Nina (i hope i spelled it right) well she was just perfect. So nice and we she actually made the suggestions for our dinner. She bragged on how good these red shrimp are I was like ok let me try that. They were as good as she said! Those shrimp are big and full of flavor. I had the collard greens and they were delicious. I enjoyed that hint of vinegar in them. Oh the appetizer was stuffed jalapeños and crab profile in them was good. I enjoyed sitting outside and not being bothered with insects because they have the outside covered. Nice idea. So we will be gathering some friends and coming back for the dinner boat.

Had lunch here on October 17th with some of my work colleagues. We sat in a private room towards the back of the restaurant. The menu consists of seafood and a bunch of Cajun and Texas/Louisiana "classics". Gumbo, boudin, etc...One of the apps that the table got were the boudin balls. They were delicious. It was my first time having boudin. I also ordered a cup of lobster bisque soup which was very good and had nice size pieces of lobster in it. For my main course I had a combination basket from the lunch section of the menu. Cornmeal crusted catfish and battered fried shrimp. Both were great. The fries were seasoned with some sort of house dusting on them which was very good. This same dusting was on the tortilla chips that you get once you are first seated. Whatever it is, I like it haha Service/waitress was attentive and my glass was always promptly refilled with half and half without having to ask. The restaurant has charm and the menu is filled with comfort food that is sure to please.

The things I do like about this place is the environment. Live music, the San Bernard River, the paddle boat. Also our waitress was excellent. That was the only reason I gave 3 stars. The food was not great. My family's food was just ok but what I got was terrible. Please avoid the Alfredo. I dont know if it was a bad batch or what but the Alfredo sauce had a extremely bland, chemical taste to it. My stomach did backflips after I ate one bite. Now the chicken and the bread it came with were ok but the sauce was downright awful. In conclusion, Nice ambience, good service, but overpriced, mediocre food.

I got married here last month(3-9-24). I was not told there were 2 other weddings scheduled for the same day as mine and it got confusing for my guests as we crossed paths. But also because of this my day of coordinator (the owner- Nancy) was splitting her time between the other two I never saw her. She should have hired a coordinator for each of us. She was very dismissive and rude, hardly even came and helped me at all. She got my flowers wrong before hand it wasn't what I wanted or asked for. And on top of that she was making rude comments about me to her employees loud enough for my guests to hear! It's a beautiful place but Nancy made my day not so great.
