Rheas Ice Cream- NBTX

We had to come here after eating dinner at Tin Top burgers. There was a line, but it went by quickly. I had the butter pecan on a cone and my wife had the oreo. They were both amazing. They make the ice cream and the cones in house. The girl serving was fast and friendly. Definitely want to come back to try more.

If you love ice cream you definitely need to come to Rheas!! It's attached to Tin Top Burgers and is easy to find since it's at the E San Antonio St. Parking is easy to find and the business can be entered from the inside of Tim Top and also an entrance from the Right side of the building.Once inside, you notice that it's a small hole in the wall that just has a few variety of flavors to choose from. But from those few, they all are amazing!!! The flavors that I would recommend are Big Red, Cookies & Cream, and Banana Pudding. The service is good, they have military discount, and it's amazing for the summer heat! We love coming here for dessert, and love bringing friends and family here to try the flavors.

I got the banana pudding in a waffle cone. The flavor was delicious. but the serving size was very small they just put one scoop on top of the cone and didn't push any down. The person serving us was very quiet. I think maybe she was tired from working all day so I will give her a pass. Plus, I wish they did samples so I could've tried out some of the different flavors that was a little bit off the edge. I guess I can say like pyramid and lime I would've liked to taste it before I purchased

Wooooow. Girl at the counter had ZERO customer service skills. No smile, no how are you, nothing. "What do you want?" Were the first words out of her mouth. There card reader wasn't working so instead of asking if she could enter our number she said "give me your card" at first I didn't hear her so I said "sorry, what?" This girl ROLLED HER EYES and waved her hand at me opening and closing it. Also, no samples? Maybe just limit instead of completely removing them. The come I got was somehow burnt and damp at the same time and my husband's ice cream was so unbelievably salty he didn't eat it. Really terrible experience.Edit: we were here 5/24/24 from around 6:30-7:30

Great ice cream and flavors but they still don't offer samples so I won't try new flavors as I don't want to pay for something I may not like.I am SUPER bummed they got rid of their milkshakes. Those were my favorite

So. For starters, the girl working there wasn't happy with life for sure! She was making ME depressed!!!! The ice cream wasn't worth the $8.88 I paid! And that was for 2 little scoops!!! I got the lemon poppy seed and I can tell you, they forgot the lemon or maybe just breathed some over the top in the hopes of it getting in there, but I prolly wouldn't pass a random drug testing for the amount of poppy seeds in that 1little scoop!!!! My daughter got the goat cheese and raspberry jam and though way better than mine, it needed way more jam!!!! Like a ribbon of fruit running thru it would have been very lovely. We ate it because of the price, but won't go back.

Rhea's Icea Cream is some of the best in Central Texas! They have a good variety of unique flavors, and I love to try something new every time I visit. The people behind the counter are really kind too! Most recently I tried the banana pudding and caramel sea salt - both soooo good!Next time, I want to get the Goat Cheese and Raspberry for sure! I really enjoy visiting the shop in New Braunfels because they have lots of space to sit down (which you kind of have to do with ice cream if you don't want to spill all over your car). Highly recommend!

Cute idea but poor execution. Space is falling apart and old. Bathroom was dirty. And the majority of the flavors my husband was interested in were sold out. After selecting a flavor he found it grainy and icy. You're better off trying another spot or going for the burgers, fries and beer next door that seemed great.

Never been here before, but since it's attached to Tin Top Burger Joint, we wanted to try it. First off, walking around the corner inside the building they were making their own waffle cones and it smelled amazing! We got a couple of different flavors and they were great. Salted Caramel with Pecan Praline 7/10 - it was a two scoop on the waffle cone. Both flavors were very good and the waffle cone was fantastic!Banana Pudding 8/10 - this one was interesting as you could taste both the banana and the Nilla Wafer. Not too overpowering, but was just good. You could tell from all the ice creams they were probably homemade and organic.Waffle Cones 9/10 - homemade and legit!Atmosphere 8/10 - nothing fancy, but has the feel of a retro old school ice cream shop. Very clean and nostalgic.Service 9/10 - our server was great!Overall 8/10 - definitely recommend checking this place out!!

Last night I came in and was greeted with an eye roll by a worker. They did not treat me with respect, nor did they bother to wash their hands before serving me. They wiped their nose while I was walking up, and still didn't have the decency to wash their hands to serve me my ice cream. They weren't even listening and gave me the wrong ice cream flavor, so I asked for a new one and explained I had asked for a different flavor and they told ME I was wrong. I didn't get a free icecream and instead had to pay for the second one. Very disappointed in my service and am so upset because I have loved Rhea's my whole life and have never been treated this badly. Hope to not see this employee again.
