Recio's Smokehouse

I can't believe I've lived in Corpus Christi for six years and never tried our local five-pound ode to Tex-Mex breakfast cuisine. I was surprised when most of my friends and coworkers had never even heard of it, and later, I gleefully showed them pictures of the baby-sized taco I ordered. For $12, you can't go wrong. The looks of awe from the faces of the children at the next table as they brought the foil-wrapped wonder out, were worth it alone. It came with potato, sausage, bacon, brisket, chorizo, egg, and cheese. I finished maybe an eighth of the taco there, and my boyfriend couldn't put down any more than a quarter of it at a time, afterwards. It was good enough to have for nearly every meal between the two of us until it was gone the next day. Portion-wise, it would probably feed four hungry adults with no leftovers. I only wish it would've been more chorizo-heavy, but this is a minor gripe. No-substitutions, otherwise I would have ordered it with more chorizo and potato, and less sausage. Be sure to take plenty of pictures, because this thing is impressive and you're sure to be the envy of your friends on social media if that's your shtick.

The food, the employees (family owned), the atmosphere was nice and quiet. It is a very cozy place and they were so kind to us. We ordered our food and as we waiting they gave us complimentary conchitas and they were AMAZING! I ordered the brisket chalupas and they were fantastic! This place is definitely 5 stars!!

We had the most amazing breakfast taco here while on vacation. My husband saw a post on Facebook so we had to check it out. When you pull in it looks unassuming but the family that owns it is so friendly you quickly feel welcome. The taco weighs about 5 lbs and takes about 20 minutes because it's made to order. It has everything you can think of including brisket and chorizo inside. We didn't expect it to taste so delicious and for the tortilla to be fresh made too. I highly recommend stopping by this hidden gem for breakfast!

Came here on a recommendation and was not disappointed! Coming from a BBQ town like Austin, Recio's can definitely compete with Franklin's and La Barebecue.

They have a great breakfast Taco they call a baby taco. It is the size of a baby. It is big enough for 5 hungry people to eat on and be satisfied. I have also tried the brisket. They have a great brisket played with sausage and fixings. The atmosphere is a little rough. Not a place to take a first date but the food is good. Outside is not much to look at and if it has been raining you will get muddy getting inside. Parking lot can use a lot of improvement. But once you get inside you can kick back and relax and enjoy some good BBQ

Absolutely some of THE best brisket I have ever eaten. The "Baby Size" taco is awesome too. It truly is the size of a baby. Lol

Excellent meat- had the 3 meat lunch (ribs, sausage and brisket) plus charro beans, potato salad and rice and a roll for under $15. The smokiness was great and the meat was like soft butter!!!
