Traditional (meaning great) Texas BBQ. Try their brisket and their BBQ baked potato is awesome. They are happy to sell you orders by the pound along with sides to take home.

I asked the cashier how many ribs came on the rib plate and she said four so I ordered it. The plate came with three, one of them being the end cap which is just dried out bark. They are also spare ribs and not baby back ribs. Sauce was bland, vinegar base and overly salty. Bread slice was slightly dried in one side. Sides (beans and potato salad) are clearly commercial grade and not made there. Overall very poor experience, would not recommend.

A good gem a block or two from the Seawall, I've been here a few times, trying new things each time. They give you a large portion of food, no matter what you order. If I had to give a honest negative mention, they are a little pricey, but I just make my visits few. I'll definitely be back just not as much as I would like to. So many things to try on the menu.

While I'm just a humble Yankee about to review a Texas BBQ joint, I do have to say that I've had the opportunity to travel through a wide swath of the US and I truly love smoked meats in nearly any form, so I think I'm at least a reasonably qualified tourist. So, Queens is G-O-O-D. I had a 3 meat plate with brisket, pulled pork and smoked sausage, and all 3 were on point. The sausage was slightly spicy, enough that it caught your attention, but not enough to take away from the experience for even those with the most sensitive palates. The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful, and the brisket had a beautiful smoke ring and had the perfect amount of fat to make it tender and delicious. The included sauces added to the flavor without taking the focus off of the meat. We also had the collard greens, that were on point, the smoked gouda Mac and cheese (excellent), and the star of the sides, the bbq brisket baked beans. Finally, the cornbread was fantastic on its own and was the perfect instrument to sop up the leftover sauce. As good as the food was, the staff was even better. The crew upfront were friendly and helpful, walking us through the menu while offering suggestions. The owner was on site as well, and came out from the kitchen to personally check on everyone to make sure they were enjoying their meal. When he found out where we were from and what we thought of the food, you could see the pride on his face. He also sent out a couple of cookies for the kids on the house, always an appreciated move. Not sure when we'll be back in Galveston again, but whenever it is, Queens will 100% be a must visit.

I was very disappointed in Queens, being a regular customer way in the past, the recipe isn't the same. The taste was horrible, i ordered a slice beef on poboy , and received 4 slices of (appeared) to have been boiled tasteless meat.

I visited this restaurant on yesterday (2/5/25). There was only one customer in the restaurant eating. I placed my order for a chopped beef po-boy and waited for my order to be prepared. After about seven minutes, which is ample time considering there were no other customers or orders, I went to the counter. Only to see my sandwich was ready and just sitting in the window. Two food preparers saw me and did nothing. After twice saying excuse me, I finally tapped on the counter to get their attention. I asked could I please get my sandwich. This staff member looked and saw my sandwich and advised that he would get someone to help me. He went into an adjacent room and returned and said someone was coming. Another three minutes went by before the lady who took my order and payment came out, along with another gentleman. She placed it in a bag and handed it to me. No apology for the unnecessary delay, no complementary soda offered., no thank you for your patience...NOTHING!Although, the sandwich was up to the standard of the previous owners, I will never return because of the awful customer service.

review based on one visit on one particular day. An unfortunate choice and an abysmal meal. I may have broken an unwritten rule about visiting a BBQ place 90 minutes before closing, especially on a Sunday. This does not in any way justify the awful food served to us. Queen's is located off the main drag in a less touristy area. Good wood smoke aroma on arrival seemed a good sign. Overly kitschy western décor surrounds the dining area. Counter order spot where they bring the food to your table. Menu has all the usual suspects-brisket, two types of sausage, pork ribs, turkey-and sides such as mac & cheese, potato salad, rice, slaw, and green beans. Also available are baked potatoes, sandwiches, and surprisingly to us burgers. Whie making our food decisions, we were told that there was no ribs and no sausage. Should have been our clue to leave as this type of circumstance has led to unpleasant results in the past. But after 5 hours on the road, we were not up for moving on. So, we chose a combo plate of brisket and turkey-no ask if preferred lean or fatty. At order asked if you wanted sauce or not with none available at the table. we chose coleslaw and potato salad as sides. No cornbread available either. I asked the young lady if they made the potato salad here and she said yes. Hmmmm. We found a table, which wasn't hard as there was only one other group dining. As we waited we listened to that group start to complain about their order-not hot, missing ingredients, and looking for a refund. Our platter arrived and it was clear right away the issues. Grey, thick slices of brisket with a decent looking smoke ring but no noticeable moisture except for the fat. Though dry, if you could chew it to the point of swallowing, it had some flavor. The turkey should have NEVER left the kitchen. Can not imagine anyone with any kitchen training thinking it should have been served to a paying customer. Less than paper thin scraps, shavings, and debris. Dry, dry, dry with little smoke flavor but it literally could have been smoked cardboard. See my included photo. The slaw and potato salad were pretty clearly commercially made, no matter how many people said it was made in house. Could they have been "mixed' fresh from commercial ingredients, I suppose so. But it wasn't "made" from scratch here. So after a few bites of the brisket, I just couldn't continue. We took the tray of barely touched food to the counter, made my feelings pleasantly clear, and left while the cashier refunded the other table's bill. Didn't even attempt to ask about the wood or see the pit. Could this have been better earlier, before things ran out, or on a different evening, almost certainly. But if ownership of Queen's reads this, you may want to revamp your hours, cooking amounts, and your staff to create better experiences for your customers.
