Prime Steakhouse & Whiskey Bar

One of my favorite steakhouses in Corpus. The quality of the meat is superb! Cocktails are also well made with a great selection of spirits. Service is good. Checked in on us frequently and provided recommendations. This place offers plenty of seating in different dining areas. Great place to come celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

Had a great time celebrating our 22nd anniversary. Our server was fantastic! We started with the Tomato and Burrata salad. Excellent! (The bread also was delicious!) I had the Green-Tea-ni that was so good, and husband had bourbon and Diet Coke (boring...) Wish we took pictures of our entrees but we started devouring before we thought to take a picture. I had the 7oz filet and it was cooked PERFECTLY. It is hard to find a restaurant that knows how to cook a rare steak and it was fabulous. The chef came out and talked to us. He is from Vegas and knows his stuff! Said that he renders the fat that he gets from the trimmings from the butcher and that's what they use to help season and cook the steaks. My husband had the crab cake Rockefeller. It was outstanding as well. This is such a cute place! We love coming here.

Great first experience. Had to finally ask for bread, before that came server notified us that baked potatoes would be another 25 minutes. This was at 6:10 only been open 2 hours. When I mentioned that to the hostess was told that they'd had a whiskey pairing. If they can't do that and be ready for a complete dinner service 2 hours after opening maybe not do the pairing. Won't be trying again for a while.

Pork belly appetizer was delicious. We had one beef ribeye and one Bison. Both were fantastic. Drink menu is impressive as well. Very nice atmosphere, not stuffy but definitely not casual. Great for date night!

So glad my husband found this place here on Yelp, we are visiting from out of town, and come to CC twice a year, and have done so for the past 5 years. We wanted to try something new. The food is so good. Hubs got the 11oz filet and it was cooked to perfection, and fork tender. I got the Red Snapper served on a bed of wild rice and it was so fresh, I will definitely order again. We made reservations just in case, and they had a cozy corner for us since it is our anniversary. We split a side of creamed spinach which also was fresh, cooked to order and delicious. Our server pointed out that their sides are quite ample and could be shared, I'm glad we did lol. For dessert we ordered the Carrot cake, it's not your typical carrot cake, has a similar texture of a quick bread like Banana nut for example, very delicious and also shareable. If you're looking for a new favorite steak house, this just might be your place, they have an extensive wine list, and an array of cocktails, including coffee and dessert drinks. Hope you give this place a try 10/10 will dine here again!

I went here on my birthday in January. I went here for Valentine's Day in February (with a trusted family friend guarding our beautiful one-month-old sweetheart, literal baby). I'm here now. The food is fantastic. The service has generally been great. The ambience is like a ranch-vibe cocoon, which is odd; the location is horrible. The entrance is in the corner of a strip mall. You'd never expect it to be five star on the Brando scale. The place is definitely an indulgence. Know that and go to town! This is a true Corpus Christi five star, you're going to pay for it and you'll get what you pay for. Also if you're deciding between this and the restaurant on top of the Omni or the Yardarm, all are really good. This is more off the beaten path, so I would tick it a smidge below for that reason, but the food here is effortlessly dancing on the same stage.

Jeans are expected dress code and this is a ranch style steakhouse, meaning it's similar to an Outback. Our text-confirmed NYE reservations disappeared from Prime (we have our text and Open Table confirmations), thankfully they pushed us off an hour and over to the bar for dinner (we had no where else to go). Gave us bar menus and one dining menu. Then we sat and waited. 20 minutes later, we received water. 30 minutes later we received a waiter who wanted to start our order ( as the restaurant began clearing out). To be fair, they were swamped and making mistakes so were overwhelmed. We thought the food would save the day and by now we were very hungry. Received our food within 20 minutes of ordering (30 minutes prior to closing). Steaks very good. Brussels sitting in half cup oil, so overcooked and cold to the touch. Rice no flavor. Green beans undercooked (not al dente - these were flash fried without any preparation and mostly "fresh, crunchy and jaw tiring in addition to the garlic also not cooked! Martini without ANY garnishment. Old fashioned needed bitters and was not mixed right. The wine was good. All around, it was a sad experience and we didn't have options at their point of screwup. They said they were double booked in every table...but they close at 9! We planned to splurge on NYE with an early dinner and much more. Sitting in the bar, we weren't going to enjoy the savoring of the meal with the noise, glass bottles thrown in trash and blaring AC aimed at us. So we ordered light and got out. Revenue lost. We won't be back for a while...chose this over Katz21...won't do that either as they are NOT comparable: one is an independent sophisticated, elegant location with experienced waitstaff and a separate bar and one is in a strip mall with inexperienced help and a cramped, rushed ranch atmosphere. Prices are similar. We have eaten at Prime once before with friends. Not a fan of being in an isle with people hustling food behind me all night, so the layout is lacking as several tables are positioned this way.We may go for steaks and convenience but not for service, nor ambience.

Just mid all around. Steaks are overpriced especially for the area. Service was ok but hard to say since it was Christmas Eve. Could be better. Should be more char on the steaks, I've had equally good steaks from outback.

I loved this place! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary, and we both enjoyed it very much. They were super welcoming, friendly, and overall extremely professional! The food was the BEST thing I have ever eaten! The servings are very generous and make sense with prices. The ambiance was very peaceful, and not chaotic at all. We had Kyla as our server and was very sweet and very attentive. Best place ever!

Started with a ceviche, which was not finely chopped like I'm used to, so we cut it ourselves into scoopable bits and the flavor was great. Grilled norwegian salmon was phenomenal, followed by a delicious apple cobbler. Authentic country ambience always feels just right for a good meal. We had a large party and had excellent service. Both the bar area and dining area are comfortable and cozy.
