Where do I begin....first we get to pick up our after hour key in the lockbox that was texted to us. It was open with the code already entered and empty. So after waiting about 30 minutes for someone to come they have us another "packet" with the key to the condo that was supposed to be in the lockbox. Their excuse was that the person working there was "new". Well, We get to our destination to find out that someone else was already in that condo. Again after waiting another 15-20 minutes (it was already around 9:30) the night manager says they have another condo for us.....so finally we get the keys to a condo we never rented. Stupid. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

We had the July 4th week rented in one of their units. They called 3 days before and cancelled claiming unfinished repairs. We got lucky and found another place, decided to drive by the place that was cancelled. To our surprise it was occupied. These guys lied and blamed a tragic disaster. They are despicable. Will be turning them into better business bureau. Beware of these crooksFollow-up on earlier comment. We talked with the people in the unit that PAE had rented to us and then cancelled. They were relatives of the owner so it seems both the owner and this company are dishonest. Do not count on them to deliver. So terrible that they tried to blame Harvey damage when there are so many still struggling!

We are OWNERS who trusted them as a vacation rental! For some reason they have the impression they own our property and we are at their mercy. Google them. There are 10 vacation rental companies with much higher ratings than them. Do your search and walk away...

Doing business with these clowns is a joke. They will not hesitate to take your money but the customer service is HORRID!!! we showed up to find no sheets on our master bed and no towels in our 2 bedroom condo. So we had to wait till the next day because supposedly no one could bring up any the night we checked in. Next day after calling again for towels and sheets we get a black trash bag of sheets and towels delivered. They ask to see the bed in question like we are lying... and then leave. Look that person may not have been a housekeeper but neither is anyone in my family!! And if I'm paying $1,200 damm dollars to stay somewhere. I better have someone making my damm bed like it should have been when we got there and put the damm towels away!!

We stayed at a Port A Escapes property that we rented from a well known hotel rental website even though it was a cottage and not a part of a hotel. The listing on the website calls it "the Cutest cottage in all Port A" but the payment receipt calls it "Spring Showers SS523G." This was the perfect little cottage getaway for the weekend. It has a full kitchen and you can save a lot of money by cooking your own meals at home. The welcome text did say that the refrigerator and A/C can freeze up if you turn them all the way down but we never had any problems. And we moved the thermostat down gently and incrementally and made it to a chilly 70 at night with no problems! The welcome message reminds you to bring your own personal soap and they mean it! there is no shampoo or body wash supplied- not even to wash your hands. Also, no beach towels are provided. It is also a good idea to stop for a bag of ice on your way as they only supply two ice trays. A few drawbacks were that the Queen sheets were obviously low budget and uncomfortable. The other drawback is that the bathroom is tiny and inches away from the bed. So if you're a new couple that's not completely comfortable around each other, you're going to get comfortable pretty quickly! The bathroom pocket door also did not lock. I LOVED that the wifi was private and they even have a DVD player if you want to bring a movie to watch. The room was walking distance to everything, including the beach, but you'll probably want to just rent a golf cart or buy a beach parking pass because everywhere we went had plenty of parking. Overall, even with the minor inconveniences like the bathroom privacy and firm sheets, we will gladly go back anytime! Well worth it!

We've rented through PAE three times this year. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews. We did have an issue with the floors not being mopped in the first place we stayed, but everything else was great with that place, and everything has been great on the other two rentals. Nice new linens, and hotel style toiletries. Places have been well stocked. We will use them again.

Port A did not disappoint! We stayed at Sea Isle Villages. Great location and nice walk to the beach. SPOILER ALERT!! This property provided 1 towel and 1 washcloth per guest for our ENTIRE 3 night stay. This is absolutely unacceptable. Being told, by the booking agent, it was due to water restrictions is laughable at best. This might be believable had there been information on water restrictions provide. We were informed that there was a laundry onsite and could wash the towels ourself for $3/load. Classic example of dishonest advertising and blatant price gouging.

I showed up the first night, and the air conditioner was broken. At first, we were told they would check the air conditioner in the morning because the house did not have any shade. An hour later, on vacation, and we still cannot take the heat in the house and make another call, they offer a repair person to come out and look at the unit and loan us one fan for eight guests. The repair person fills the unit with freon. I wasted several hours while on vacation getting help for the condo's condition with lots of pushback; only after requesting my money back did the management company decide to do something.

I do not recommend using this company for rentals. The house was not as advertised. We sent them an email and called them about some issues we were having and this is the only response we received. Construction was happening over the backyard our entire stay and debris and nails were all in the yard and pool. Port a escapes did not care at all. Our toddlers were picking up nails and screws from the bottom of the pool, guys on lifts nailing over the backyard while we were swimming in the pool. The issues with the house were one thing but the way it was handled was pathetic. We won't be using port a escapes in the future for renting.

Rented Lucky Enough in the Village Walk area for our family vacation. House was perfect size for all of us, great location, and beautiful views of the gulf from the roof top BUT..........We were greeted with a dead roach on the 2nd level stairs even though I thought they clean the property before we got there. Another roach was in the bunk bed! Then another one the next day on the 2nd level powder room. The pool was dirty!I called Port A Escaped maintenance on Friday and was told the pool people would be out that day to clean and they would call the exterminator. 4pm Friday, pool people had not come out and of course no one from Port A Escapes called to give me an update so I called. Was told they would reach out again. Called on Saturday - of course no one was there to help so I left a message and never heard back. And still haven't heard back from them!I will never book thru Port A Escapes again. I have been coming to Port A since I was a kid and now bringing my own family - this is the worst rental company I have come across.
