We decided to stop in to see this museum after seeing a few others in the area. This place is stascked top to bottom with pharmeceuticals and the docent was very interactive and full of information. There are all sorts of things to see here like the insane things doctors would tell people to take that we now know are deadly. There's even an iron lung here. Upstairs are more rooms filled with recreations of dental offices.

This old pharmacy is an absolute joy to visit. The lovely lady on duty showed us around and made our experience so enjoyable. There is so much here- the old soda fountains, glass jars, old prescriptions on a wire hook at least 2 feet long. An old iron lung, wooden wheel chair and wooden exam table. Baby incubator. Dental tools. And much more. Packed to the ceiling. Go -you won't regret. No admission but jar for donations.

You don't need to be in pain or on pills to appreciate this place. This is an old pharmacy, one of the oldest in the state, which has been lovingly transformed into a beautiful museum! You can see the old apothecary jars, labelled with strange balms, powders and tonics. They have their old bottles (still full!) of morphine, laudanum, and other exotic sounding medicines. The old pharmacies would sell phonographs and other household appliances, so they have a great selection of them to show off! They actually have an Edison wax cylinder, which they played for me! I can't believe how cool their phonographs are. They're all hand-crank only, no electricity. Amazing. The staff was absolutely incredible- knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and willing to show me around and answer all my questions. They're working on raising some money to put in an elevator. I'm not sure what's upstairs that we need to see, but that part seems to be off limits for now. Parking was rather easy. The town of Cuero has slowed down considerably in the past few years, so Main Street is a bit more relaxed. The best part of the museum- it's FREE!

We had a really fun walkthrough of this museum. I remember when this place was open for business as a kid, and to see it as a museum now is fun. A lot of really cool things to see about the history of medicine, some rather humorous. They have a small selection of vintage items for sale, as well as some non-medicine related turntables and other vintage items near the back. Definitely a fun stop in the heart of Cuero Downtown.
