Peters' Cut Rate Liquor

A little hole in the wall but very very friendly counter woman helped us a lot they did not have a lot in line nor champagne by the gift sacks and beer were very ample.

I sent my wife to buy a cheap, big bottle of tequila that usually runs 1.5 liters and is $20.00 or so.....the very low end of the tequila chain, but perfect for margaritas.My wife never goes into a liquor store so I told her to ask where they have the cheap, big bottles of tequila. The awful saleswoman told her the cheapest tequila was behind the shelf and sold her a $30.00 bottle of Dulce Vida Organic tequila in a 750 ml bottle. I am sure it will be acceptable tequila, but just the opposite of what I hoped to accomplish.Called and spoke to the lady that made the recommendation who remembered the transaction and said that was the cheaper tequila in the more reputable brands. Neither she or the manager would budge on a return. Horrible. Shame on me for not giving more explicit directions. Shame on Peter's for the terrible service. Looks like Spec's picked up a new customer tonight.

Peter's does not support the American military. I have been told (forcefully) by several employees that Peter's does not accept out-of-state driver's licenses. Under the Sailors' and Soldiers' Relief Act established in 1940, as an active duty service member I do not have to get a driver's license in the state that I'm stationed in as long as my current license is still valid. I have shown them my military ID, my birth certificate, and my social security card and they have refused to serve me. The only way to get a product from this chain is to have a local friend. Sometimes after a long time on duty, the only thing I want is to have a drink at home by myself to wind down. To not accept a military ID as a proper form of identification is a slap in the face. From now on, I will be shopping solely at the Spec's in Angleton. They have a better selection anyway.
