Pepe's Patio

Wow. Just... wow. Best carne guisada you will ever have in your life. Really. REALLY. We were greeted by Oreo the German Shepherd who escorted us to the door. Upon entering this charming mom & pop eatery, we were welcomed by Pepe himself and promptly escorted to our table. Clean, efficient. We were then brought out fresh iced tea and the best fresh salsa I've ever had to accompany the house made chips. I asked Pepe what he's most proud of on the menu and he immediately interjected "carne guisada, no question". Of course that's what we ordered along with a cheese enchilada combo platter. Just come. Order. Eat. Drive far to get here if necessary. You won't regret it.

We found Pepes on our way back from SPI. Food is very fresh. We have fish fry on Friday. It is drum fish from Baffin Bay. Salsa is perfect spice.

My parents recently moved to Riviera so I will be a patron of this tucked away little restaurant when ever I am in town now from Dallas. It's an unpretentious, converted house, local peeps, church folks on Sunday and a Hispanic family run establishment I believe. Not a ton of tables. Little garden area to walk around. Friendly. Two lose dogs that belong to owner hanging around in front so don't be startled, they were fine. Food took a little while but we were out in the county...they run on county time. No matter, the food was excellent and gone so fast. Tortillas fresh, black beans authentic, fried papas so yummy. Only negative, coffee tasted bad. I think it's the local water. So, that is my only negative. Support this business, they are a great spot to hit if you are passing through. Just be respectful, they ain't city folks.

Service was excellent. Buffet was average at best. Food was decent but not excellent.

Great tacos... the best tacos. There is a nice variety of tacos to choose from and the tortillas taste fresh and authentic. Ate this place 2 days in a row and it wasn't due to the lack of other options in the area (though this is true)

Our family loves starting the day with pepe's breakfast tacos, today we headed to the beach after calling in ahead for a treat, and just as great as the mornings when relax time at home is needed- the authentic tasty fresh food is at the top of my list. I have lived in Dallas, suburbs and small town south of Dallas where Tex-Mex reigns the Top of the charts within my dining Adventures, and the Homemade perfection here is very much enjoyed. I am looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu!

I selected this restaurant for lunch with my husband and brother because of Yelp rating. They both want to ban me now from using Yelp again. They had the lunch special taco platter. Tacos were over cooked! I couldn't find any meat in my burrito. Food just wasn't good. Salsa was authentic however. Service was slow and very unfriendly.
