Penshorns Meat Market

I love coming for some local meat and goods. My go to is their marinated chicken thighs. The seasoning is delicious and people I cook for always compliment it.

Excellent meats, best dried sausage and FANTASTICALLY DELICIOUS jerky!! My only complaint is I can't buy their dried sausage or jerky online.

I was extremely disappointed and felt taken advantage of. While I don't mind paying premium $ for decent products this was by far a shocker. Only because I neglected to purchase from my neighborhood butcher at Schotts in Alamo Ranch and i promised my daughter that I'd cook them when I came to visit in Marion, I took a chance and bought them. Because they're wrapped and not visible your purchase is a mystery. $37 later I'm cutting off pounds of fat. I will travel with my oxtails from Alamo Ranch in the future.

Took a drive to this hidden gem. Cute country store feel. Everyone working there was helpful as we walked around and admired the goods sold. Great cuts of meat, everything was reasonably priced. They had these huge dog bones and pig ears for dogs at $3.00 each, so our dogs got a treat too. Beats what they sale at Petco. $40.00 later we finally left with our treasures. We bought samples of turkey, dried sausages, cheese, boudin and jerky. They have a small selection of fresh chocolate milks, unfortunately they were expired so we were unable to sample. The only thing that did not meet my expectation was the boudin. For me it did not have a good rice to meat ratio. It was just "ok". This was worth a day trip. Try the coffee at the shop 2 doors down.

You just can't go wrong here! Everything I've ever purchased has been above average. The prices are fair. The quality is excellent. The service is great as well. Our all time favorite thing here is the jalapeño cheese sausage. Cooked on a charcoal grill at home is by far our favorite meal! And I don't even like pork, so that's really saying something! All of the steaks are excellent but we usually grab the t-bones. The hubs can never leave without a handful of the beef sticks for the week. So don't forget those on your way out!

Fantastic beef, chicken, and jerky. Great prices, great service. When I can afford it, I'll buy a quarter side of beef. The best I've had in San Antonio.

Penshorns, in Marion, isn't close to anywhere but the drive is well worth it. The quality of their meats is second to none. You won't find this quality at HEB, Walmart, Costco, or Sam's Club. If you care about the meat you're serving, Penshorns doesn't compromise.

Robert and his team is awesome. Thank have the best meats around!!! I highly recommend!!

Neat small town meat shop. Carried products big town meat markets didn't. Needed pork shank for Schweinshaxe. Very fair prices, too.
