Papi Chulo's

OMG- super authentic taste. The best food always seems to found in the simplest places. The place is simple and used to be a Whataburger, but it is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is oooohhhhh so good.

Great taco place!!! Love that they have a drive through! Got their barbacoa and carnitas tacos and they were so flavorful and packed with meat! Their salsas are great as well as their queso!!! Only thing is they change up their cheese each time.

Great Mexican. Went for Caldo de rez (beef) and they were out. Had the tortilla soup and boy is it good!! Lots of chicken with avocado slices. Yummy!!

Because another spot on the southside with good barbacoa is closed mondays we came here instead because it's down the street. I ask at the drive thru if they have barbacoa and they say yes. I ask if they sell it by the pound or just in tacos. The woman handling the drive thru responds that it can be by the pound, in a taco or a burrito. I ask how much it costs by the pound and she asks me to hold on a second because she is busy. Ok no problem, I'm not in a rush. She tells me the price and then I say I want half a pound. I ask if it comes with tortillas and she says no, so I ask how do they sell them like individually or by the pack or what and what the prices are. She sighs and says "gosh lady" under her breath (in spanish. I speak spanish) asks me to hold on a second and comes back with the price. Ok I place my order and before she turns her mic off I hear her sigh and say "gosh this woman"I'm sorry, was I really being a difficult customer by asking you a few questions and the price for two items that are not advertised on your menu?I'm glad the barbacoa was horrible so that I never have to come here again. It had no flavor, an excessive amount of fat globs and was not shredded evenly. There is another place nearby well known for their barbacoa that does not serve it with visible fat, chops it up perfectly to serve into tacos and has excellent flavor.

My daughter and I went to lunch here today for the first time. My daughter had the enchiladas, and I had the bacon wrapped shrimp. Food was fresh, quick to the table and was very tasty. The employees were extremely nice, and we're quick to refill our drinks and make sure everything was OK. My daughter and I had a great lunch date I want to say thank you to the staff at Papi Chulo's !!

My favorite place to eat when i am in Corpus. This family owned restaurant is always good. The Egg and potato tacos with a coffee will cure what ever ales ya. Enjoy. The flour tortillas are wonderful.

Ordered two tacos and two small drinks from the drive thru that came out to $15. Both tacos were barely warm and had extremely small amounts of egg and bacon in them. Mostly just filled with cheese. This location has gone downhill

Been going here for years , came in one day had a meal no problem( meal was average). They charged us twice , went to go ask for a refund on the double charge following days, said they would and never did. They said they had to ask the owner if they could refund me even though they admitted to charging me twice. Never going back here again.

This place makes very good breakfast tacos, but the dinner was underwhelming., We ordered a Puffy taco plate and combo enchilada plate. The beans and enchiladas did not taste fresh. The puffy taco chicken is not fresh shredded chicken, but likely reheated chicken drenched in sauce. Both my mother and I felt like we had rocks in our stomachs after eating there. Never again.

Sudden stop for lunch on a cold rainy day. The food was so good, do fresh, very clean place and attentive server. You won't be disappointed chicken caldo is excellent
