Palm Bay Village is a very nice condo community on South Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi. It is technically on "the island" but is still convienient to get back into town, or to go down to Port Aransas, Mustang Island, etc. The community is centered around the lagoon-style pool with the condos encircling it and other condos off to the sides like spokes. The pool was excellent, with varying levels of shallow areas, and deeper areas and various water structures (a waterfall, a ring of water, a table in the middle of the deep-end). The only drawback was the pool loungers needed to be replaced: several were broken or blown out after several years of use. Also no hot tub. The whole community is xeriscaped with nice drought-hardy flowering plants and pretty rocks and there is a convenience store adjacent to the property, so we were able to walk over and get drinks and ice as needed. Also a couple bars and bistros nearby. Our unit (#305) is a one bedroom that is tastefully furnished and well stocked with the basics (nice towels and dishware, and a good assortment of board games). It was on one of the spokes of the community, so not right in front of the pool. The couch had a pull-out bed that would be suitable for small children but an adult would probably find it uncomfortable. The flooring is scored and stained concrete so no worries about sandy feet or dripping bathing suits. The unit has a nice washer and dryer, so it would be perfect for renting for a week. We cooked several meals in the well-appointed kitchen. The community also has two propane grills that we used for one meal. The main drawbacks of the unit was the ice maker was really slow and loud and there is no ice maker on the property, so we had to get a bag of ice from the gas station; the showerhead is like one you'd except at a Motel 6 or a cheap apartment; the A/C was really loud as well and since the unit is a little stuffy and warm, it had to be on the entire weekend. Also, the wifi is very slow and weak if you are not near the center of the property and they don't put the password on you welcome packet, forcing you to have to call the office and ask. All and all, these are minor things and we would stay here again, just to get a few more days by the awesome pool!

I am tenant in one of their managed properties. I stopped in to have a conversation about a serious situation and was treated like a second class citizen. The owners were down right rude and basically barred me from entering one of their offices to sit down. I had to speak to them in the lobby, and they just said "we don't DEAL with tenants," as IF my being a tenant was beneath them to treat me with basic human dignity. Avoid these hoity-toity types who think so highly of themselves. What is ironic, is that they are trying to make me move out for having two dogs, and at the office, they had a dog running around. Sad but true story. Happened on St Patricks day 2015. If I could put 0 stars I would.

Where do I begin? So we stayed a total of 10 days at the unit #905. It was great. It slept 4 comfortably, as it had two beds. Super clean. Washer and dryer were easy to use and super convenient. There are two floors and the stairs are steep, but they are cool, otherwise. There are two and a half bathrooms. Master bedroom has an on-suite. Kitchen is totally upgraded with granite counter tops, garbage disposal, and a blender for the margaritas! Stainless steel appliances are super nice, so if you want to buy groceries, please do with no hesitation! There is a small deck in the back with a table and two chairs. There are plenty of dishes, silverware, and there's even a wine cooler. There is also a sofa Sleeper, but it's not acceptable for sleeping, very bad. Oh and did I mention the pool is absolutely awesome! This unit is close to the entry of the pool too! The only reason I don't give it a 5 star, is it advertised as sleeps 6, but it doesn't......and the entry is not well maintained. Otherwise, it's great!

Go elsewhere. These people don't give a single care about there tenants. Like most property managers... Definitely don't expect your full deposit back. They will lie about the condition and deduct for anything they can possibly find. Sarah and Mary can care less about you or your family. Didn't bother removing mold from the house, fixing rotting doors, pantries and other areas of the house, didn't bother to fix roof leaks, door leaks.Nothing. They sure did Deduct $300 for cleaning the carpet even tho we paid to do that ourselves as well. Guess the 40 year old carpet wasn't clean enough for the next tenants. Took about 4 months for them to fix the a/c during the middle of the summer and said 78 degrees in the house is perfectly normal. And the contractors they used were not qualified for the work they did at all. They were also in charge of keeping the yard maintained as you can see, that too was constantly put on the back burner. The $150 we spent to have the patio preasure washed to remove mold? Disregarded The $550 garage door motor replacement , and service we paid for? Disregarded. The $175 we paid to have the carpets cleaned? Disregarded.

Use these people at your own risk. Saying this rental agency is run would be giving them too much credit. Any and all repair requests were ignored or kicked down the road. I called numerous times, sent emails with pictures and no action was taken. Known drug house in the complex with noise issues, filth, etc. No action taken. Plenty of attitude from office staff all the way down to their shitty realtors. The staff is quite quick to react negatively or in a hostile/confrontational manner when confronted on or about their lack of action. The worst rental experience I've had to be quite clear. If you want to deal with UNPROFESSIONAL/UNETHICAL people, look no further. This group is exactly what you think of when you hear the term "slum lord". These people deserve a negative rating....they earned it.

Terrible at property management. They never tried to rent my place unless I called incessantly, then never checked on the property when it wasn't rented unless I drove out there - from out of state! My unrented property had an A.C. and water heater leak that went unchecked by my property manager (which is what I was paying them to do) and cost me $10k on top of the income I was losing each month with a vacant property. Terrible. Stay far away from this company as a property manager.

When it became time to refund rental deposits they charged us over $500 to trim palm trees which had not been trimmed in years. I guess we made a mistake not to list the landscaping of the property at the time of rental, or maybe the mistake was to rent a property from Palm Bay Rental Management.

Our family stayed in a large condo for a one month rental during a relocation to the Corpus Christi area. The home itself was nicely decorated and fit our family wonderfully. We had room for everyone to sleep comfortably, to enjoy cooking in a nice large kitchen and the updated furnishings. Each bedroom had it's own TV and the multiple bathrooms accommodated our family nicely. The ocean was just a short walk away from the condo. Our complaints were not with the home or the homeowners. It was with the rental management company. They were very rude when trying to take care of issues and almost impossible to get a call back. We had to call several times. The furnace went out and we were not able to get call backs from the office in regards to the status. When we did get a hold of them it was a few days before they got the furnace fixed. The homeowners gave us a credit back for the time the furnace was out.Pool was not heated. The hot tub was not in working condition. We asked for it to be repaired or checked out. We were told, "the hot tub was the HOA's responsibility." and there was nothing they could do about it. We were not aware of this when we rented the condo. Nor given another phone # to call. Deposit was not mailed to us. We were called on the 30th day and told to come pick it up. We were charged for misc supplies? ($16.74), toilet paper roller ($1.19), shower liner ($7.11), and repairs to a chair ($23.25) that we alerted them was broken when we arrived. We cleaned the home completely before we left including vacuuming, dusting, taking garbage out, cleaned all bathrooms and swept and mopped and they still charged us a $150 cleaning fee when we left. Also an overage for electric charge of $82.38.I would never rent with Palm Bay again and I certainly would not refer them to a friend. During one of the conversations, a representative actually stated that SHE was trying to be patient with ME. I had simply called three times trying to get an answer with a promise of a call back over a two week period that was NEVER RETURNED. We paid the full amount ($3200) and expected to receive what was advertised and to be treated descent instead of a bother to them.

This place including it's management was a joke. I took my wife there for our 13th anniversary. The rental agent was very nice and talked me into 801 because of its king size bead and cleanliness of the complex. I booked room (townhome) #801 in the Palm Bay Village for three nights. We arrived at 4pm Sunday to check in and were greeted by a less than enthusiastic staff member. The wife was the first to enter the townhome and immediately remarked on how dirty the floor looked. The floor looked as if it had not been cleaned in at least a week. This was only the beginning. The couch and chair were worn and extremely uncomfortable. ALL the rugs were filthy to include the bath and kitchen mats. The kitchen was dirty, dishwasher full from the last occupant, coffee pot dirty, including most of the dishes in the cabinets. The bathroom was also dirty down to the filthy tub which backed up to your ankles with every shower. The toilet was shimmed with a splintered piece of wood which stuck out about 6 inches from the bottom. I called the office, Palm Bay Rentals, and explained the mess and requested a new room. I was told that they were all booked up, but someone would be right over to clean. 2 minutes later the same woman who checked me in was at the door, visibly embarrassed, with cleaning supplies in hand. We, yes "WE", cleaned that place for 2 hours. At this point there was no reason to expect the sheets had been changed so we requested new sheets. Turns out we had to wash the only set. The bedroom closet had only mismatched dirty bedding and a wadded up, yes dirty, mattress cover in it for the foldout couch bed. I called the office Monday morning while on the beach and asked for the manager. The manager was unavailable, but was informed that they were aware of the issues I had the night before and were working on some solutions. I was told they would call when they had some "options" for me. They never called. When I checked out I asked to speak to the manager in person. The manager, another less than enthusiastic person, appeared indifferent as she explained how she tried to find something else, but couldn't. She had no excuse for not calling, but did say she credited out credit card for our problems; $30. I don't even know what to say about that.Long story short; AVOID Palm Bay Rentals! A huge disappointment awaits you there.

We Rented a 3 bedroom duplex from Palm Bay. We left the home in good shape, Palm Bay says the owner claims we left tears in a leather recliner & charged us $269.54 for repairs. First of all recliner was not leather it was pleather or a fake leather. It showed signs of wear when we arrived plus during the time we were there fabric kept coming off the chair. If it were leather it wouldn't do that. I've called Palm Bay numerous times spoke with Mary McCoy twice & was referred to Debra Brock. Spoke to receptionist several times to leave word to speak to Debra Brock also asked for photos. Was told they would look into it & send photos. It's been a week & I have not had a return call from them nor have I received photos. I expect to receive photos & a copy from shop who did repair job so I can contact them to get their opinion about the susposedly tears. A poor way of doing business when it is automatically assumed you damaged something, then charge you for it & never even call to ask about it. Needless to say I would never recommend Palm Bay to anyone nor will we use their service again. Dianne Blodgett209-747-4706
