I thought the meat was seasoned well but it was kind of tough. I got the puntas de filite and it was pretty good. I know my friends liked their food better so it might just have been my dish that was a bit tough. The service was alright, a bit slow, but the workers were nice. The inside is very spacious and cute and the lighting was nice.

My wife and I were in Laredo for a Global Entry interview at the Laredo Processing Center. We drove down for ~3 hours since neither Austin nor San Antonio airports has openings until October and September, respectively. We have an international trip coming up in October so we wanted to knock this thing out as quickly as possible.OK, back to the review. Before we left for Laredo, we checked out recent articles for restaurants to check out and things to do. There were quite a few intriguing dining options but less with regards to appealing options for what to do. We checked out the historic district but, teeming multitudes of perfume stores and money exchange places, the area lacked any charm whatsoever. It actually felt like we were in Mexico.When we checked into our hotel, we asked the lady at the front desk for lunch recommendations and things to do. She couldn't recommend anything to see in the area but suggested Palenque Grill for lunch, which was on our list of possibles. Palenque Grill, located just off I-35, is quite spacious. We were seated immediately and served some warm and crispy tortilla chips with various sauces...loved them all but I preferred the spicy salsa while my wife loved the bean dip.My wife ordered the Pechuga de Pollo ($19) and I tried their Puntas de Filete ($21). My wife was surprised at how flavorful the chicken was, although she thought the veggies were overcooked. I liked the flavor of tender beef tips in that savory sauce. Loved the freshly made flour and corn tortillas. All in all, a good lunch option, albeit perhaps not the best value around. Not your typical Tex-Mex. Service was very attentive and friendly. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $55 with tip.

Pocket GemI'm calling this a pocket Gem because it's sort of hidden between a bunch of fast food restaurants on a busy street. Everything around is fast food, so if you are driving by fast you'd never realize it's even here.What a fantastic place! I can't say enough about how glad I am I came here. Very inconspicuous.You walk in and immediately feel like you're in a high-end, classy place. From the lights and decorations you feel like you're in a special place. Everyone is dressed up, but relaxed and having fun. It's s white cloth type of place, and it was completely packed. There were several birthday celebrations while I was here, on a Wednesday night, and they had a solo singer playing the guitar and singing very beautiful Mexican music. I didn't understand a word of it, but he sang do beautifully and with his heart, you could feel emotion.There's also an elegant bar. When I walked in, as I was alone, I said I would sit at the bar but it was empty. I wanted to sit in the main room near the singer where everyone else was dinning.I saw so many great pictures of food here on Yelp and knew I couldn't try just one thing so I opted to get several small dishes. I got the tortilla soup, even though it was called something else in Spanish, and I got the ceviche appetizer. Bit were delicious.So they bring this plate of chips, salsa and dip to the table, and I've never had better than here. The chips were freshly made here, the salsa was delicious, and the dip was some kind of mix of beans and mole or something. I'm not explaining it well enough but it was really good.I can't say enough and I would recommend everyone try it, especially as a date night or a group of family or friends.Fantástico!

I ordered Salmon and Vegetables w/ side of Charro beans. Salmon was dry and so hard on the majority of the edges I could not eat it. Flour tortillas were hard and over cooked with burnt areas I ordered delivery through door dash. If I has been in restaurant I would have asked for something else

Es mi lugar favorito Pero elPasado fin de semana estuvimos en elBar y pedimos tequila doble y pues nos supo medio raro Se le dijo al de la barra a Guchi así le dicen y sacó una botella de doble con una etiqueta blanca arriba y con letras y dijo este lo manda hacer el dueño ....le dije eso no está bien es adulterado a mi dame el original ....pues sacó una botella nueva Así que cuidado cuando pidan doble no se por que el dueño permite eso no está nada bien deben de notificar al cliente antes que no es el mimos Para mi es es adulterado
