This place is spectacular with beautiful beaches, clean blue water, campgrounds, boat docks and miles of roads to drive and enjoy the scenery. We drove around almost the entire island and stopped at the visitor center and got any information we could use and a map. We drove down to the beach. There is a small parking lot but, they allow you to actually drive out onto the beach. The sand is pure and the water blue and the whole area is very clean. You can bring your coolers, chairs, umbrellas and all you need in the back of your car. Then just pull out onto the beach and unload. It is a very nice place.

I can't say enough about how fun this National Seashore is. First, you can drive and camp on the beach! Second, this is the DOG FRIENDLIEST of any national park I've been to. (In fact, Corpus Christi was quite dig friendly on the whole.) The Gulf winds bring a lot of trash onto this beach, so don't expect raked beaches of Mexico or pristine shoreline of Costa Rica. Instead, consider pitching in. The visitors center offers bags and Dumpsters. For me, an hour or two of trash pickup was fun since I'd be walking the beach anyway. It was also appreciated - I got a sew on patch :).

This place is awesome! You can splash around in the water during the day, or you can look for ghost crabs at night!

This is a beautiful seashore. The area is so green and plain. The beach is beautiful, although the color of the water is not as clean and beautiful as beaches in California. The wind and sea waves give a special feeling. There are beautiful see shells of different colors, washed away by the wave. They immediately sink into the sand to escape from predatory birds. It is a nice scene.

A must see stop while in Corpus Christi! The drive is beautiful with tons of natural dune landscaping. Make sure to stop at the visitors center, they have an informative display and very friendly and knowledgeable employees that will answer your questions, chat with you about the island and provide you with pamphlets and maps. They have a small gift shop that helps support their efforts so be sure to take care of some of your gift list there, its for a great cause and there are lots of cute items. The beach is lovely and clean and home to tons of wildlife. If you don't have a 4 wheel drive to park directly on the beach further down, you'll have to lug your stuff through searing hot, soft sand. However, the beach near the visitor center is perfect for early morning or late afternoon strolling. There are several permanent shelters directly on the beach for a picnic. Be sure to experience the walking trails in cooler months. We can't wait to return!

We made reservations for a bird watching tour and planned one of our precious few days around it. When we arrived half an hour early so as not to make the guide wait, we were told that children of car seat age aren't welcome . It was 2:30 so it was too late to rearrange our day. They told us that we could follow the driver in his van, seriously???? We're very disappointed in what their visitors center had to offer and about how we were treated. There were no age requirements posted and out granddaughter was with us when we signed up for the tour the previous day.
