Our Lady Bar & Patio

I had a pleasure to meet with my friends at Our Lady Bar in New Braunfels. The location is perfect for the venue. Parking lot was big enough for the party. The layout is pretty logical. After entering the bar, there are 2 wings, bar area with seating on the left and kitchen on the right (not for customers). Restrooms are in the middle. The decorations are nostalgic and cozy. There is a huge open area in the back with seating, games and fire pit. My party host brought a DJ and the place was all lit up. The drink menu was simple. Employees were friendly. I would return if I ever travel to this part of town.

Went to Our Lady when it opened. Catchy name. Rosaries decorated bar area. I asked the bartender why all the rosaries and name of the bar, paying homage to Mary. Said he was an alter boy so they decided to name the bar after Our Lady. For looking so big there really was not much room. The owner bordered on hostile, why she seemed to go into bar business dealing with people I don't know. At the time they had a small menu, not sure if they expanded. I had soup and it was so so. A patron at the bar told me they made a great old fashion. Haven't been back which is sad since I just live up the hill and could have gone there often.

We just went for the first time the other night and really enjoyed it. Owners were nice people and we talked a lot about their bar and the vibe. From what I gathered they are trying to make a place that is a local place for friends to just have a drink/bite, and it seemed they considered their regulars as friends too. I found the service to be great and the people to be kind. I also enjoyed the drinks (Old fashioned was good, marg was good too but tart, and the beer tasted normal ;)We didn't try any food

We've been here 3 times. Everything has been fantastic each time. If you love mussels, you have to have it here- better than McAdoo's! Their pizza is the best - thinest crust with awesome toppings. Nice, relaxing atmosphere inside and they have a great outdoor seating area. Jen and Natalie took great care of us.

Quirky bar, very pretty building with a great presence. The food was amazing, we got an heirloom tomato salad, roasted beef, and a jalapeno cheesecake. Two cocktails also gimlet and a grapefruit/rosemary take on a margarita. Simple and satisfying. I've read other reviews, if you want Olive Garden, they will be polite and sociable. If you want to meet the Lady and try some great food, you should check this place out.

I could never figure out why the place was always dead, I now know why. If I could give it a negative star I would. Have been there twice. First time the owner was a little rude but I thought maybe it was a bad day. Gave it a second chance and she was worse! Save your money and go ANYWHERE else!! It couldn't be more obvious that any positive reviews are from the horrid owners friends. Trust me, all the negative reviews are very accurate and true!!!

This bar was hoping on New Year Day!! We decided to stop in for a drink or three. There were plenty of places to sit indoors and outdoors. The food was amazing!! Pork belly with black eyed peas and cornbread. The environment was filled with live music and friendly customers!! We will definitely stop by here again.

All the horrible reviews on here are spot on. The horrid brunette woman behind bar, who is also the server literally makes fun of her guests. She is clearly insecure and intentionally rude. Average age of of her regular patron is 70. What a joke this place is!!!

I have driven by numerous times and wanted to visit. It was not untl looking for a place to rent for an occasion that I did. Patricia, the owner, runs a neighborhood bar. When I walked in, I felt like i had entered Cheers. The ambiance of friendship was felt . The bar can be rented for private events. I ordered food from Gennaro"s Tattoria. The coordination between the two was done by Our Lady The event went smoothly and I received numerous complements from my guests. I definately recommend this place to use for events or as a local hang out to share a good time with your old friends and the new ones you will meet ther.Steven

Very much enjoyed our visit to Our Lady. Nice to experience a totally adult venue for a change. Bottled beer was like it should be and the salmon salad toast points with lovely melon was scrumptious! Bartender served us ice water as soon as we sat down at the bar which is an appreciated and long forgotten amenity. Great music and top service. We will be back!
