Oso Beach Golf Course

Very nice and well maintained Golf Course!I want to thank Dwayne Rhodes and the entire team at Oso Beach for their professionalism . Just wanted to share an experience and this is not the first time this has happened, I'm forever leaving things behind but I left something in my golf cart. It was a Yeti 26oz Tumbler and I was very pleased to find out that the staff turned it in . I've even left my range finder before and it was turned in , Well played my friends ! Great honest friendly staff ! Thank you Gentlemen !Thank you !

Staff was very friendly. Course wasn't in great condition. I just played it in February so it's not expected to be fantastic, but the grass was minimal. Greens were fine. No driving range was a bummer. Price was fine. I had a $34 senior rate for 18 w/cart. I was a single. The starter was able to fit me in right away with some great guys from Canada. Any day on the golf course is better than being in the office.

I played this course nearly every weekend with friends and family. They certainly keep up with the greens. The course is fun, prefect for beginners. I only wish they had a course Marshall. But I know they can't prevent golf etiquette.

I have golfed at this course 3 times and had a great time. Went to make a reservation this last time and they were pretty rude. I'm sure it's not the norm. But I was pretty disappointed in the service so they lost a star.

Great local course greens and fairways are well kept especially in this south Texas heat. Staff is friendly great help, service and amenities. There break room serves great food and beverages.

Was taking my 14 year old son to try golf for the first time here and was pretty disappointed with the experience. I have a set of clubs perfect for the both of us cause we are the same height. However it's not on the website that I have found nore was it mentioned in the clubhouse but each person has to have their own set of clubs. So even if you do not know if your kiddo is going to like golf you either have to buy an extra set of clubs or rent their over priced clubs. Never were we all over the fairway and most the time played best ball since he was learning. Probably would have never been a problem if we didn't have one of their big wigs playing behind us.

Positives: greens are well kept and nice, wide open if you hit some monster slicesNegatives: fairway grass is as tall as my backyard- and I really need to mow, spots on the course are straight marsh right in the middle of certain holes, rental clubs are worse than a starter kit for childrenDo not come to this course without 100+ vaccinations, 72 bottles of bug spray, a heavy duty mosquito net to cover you, your cart, and your clubs. We made the mistake of not doing that and it was the most miserable golf experience of our lives.

Played for the first time at Oso Beach. The course itself is not very difficult. A par 70 in pretty decent condition -- especially for the hot summer. The neighborhood it is in is not anything to write home about. There are some ratty houses and chain link fences. However, every member of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Have you ever played a course where you can't even get your tee in the ground because it is so dry? Oso was the opposite. I've only played on one or two other courses where your tee goes into the tee box like butter, and certainly didn't expect that from a city run course. Overall a good golfing experience at a fair price.
