The Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve has been a place of refuge for me over the years. A place I come to pause, quiet the mind, and reflect. Why? Well, just look at some of the pictures, and you'll get the idea.It is the best and most well kept public nature spot in Corpus Christi, for sure. If you do not know, Oso Bay is where Oso Creek eventually spills out into the bay. It is a really great representation of the ecological beauty and complexity of the area. I can see why so many families and friends frequently come here in groups. In short, it is "Not Your Typical Park". If you are visiting Corpus, for whatever reason, I highly recommend going out of your way to visit this not so hidden treasure!

We stopped by here to check things out. It's free, not much to complain about that! The visitor's center was closed but we chose to walk the trails anyway. I'm not sure if the last hurricane dried up these wetlands but things were very dry as of April 2022 and it wasn't much of a wetland at all. They have some really nice park features in the front. Trails are good but are not well marked as indicated by other reviewers but it's not difficult to figure out. There is little shade and the trees seem to really hold in the humidity so bring lots to drink, sunscreen, and maybe frequent in the am or when it's cooled down in the evening. Please pay attention to the rattlesnake signs and stay on the trails

I really love this park! It's a nice escape from reality. The park is very well maintained and the trails are easy to navigate. You will get a great taste of South Texas nature here! There are also boardwalks that will lead you out to the water to some benches to enjoy the views and birdwatch. This park is very dog friendly, they even have small water fountains for dogs around the playground. I always feel safe and relaxed while walking here.I have heard from coworkers that they host great classes for kids at the learning center. However, this park is a beautiful place for the whole family to visit!

Love this place. You can have a different experience every time. You can spend hours walking the trails. Bring your pet, your kids, your bike etc. Very peaceful setting and a great place for your kids to learn about nature.

I've been here twice now. The first time was last Saturday; my husband and I took our Pomeranian to get him out on a walk. I had called earlier in the week to check on their pet policy, hours, pricing, etc. The employee I spoke to assured me that dogs are welcome (on-leash) but warned that, because it is warming up, the snakes were coming out. Yikes! We were there around 5pm Saturday. They have plenty of paved parking near the entrance. Beautiful weather and not too many people there. We didn't see any snakes (Thank God.) but another visitor warned us of a rattlesnake by a tree we were close to. Our Pomeranian had no trouble on the trails, though I did end up carrying him several times basically out of fear of snakes. My second visit was yesterday (Tuesday). I went back by myself for a longer walk. This time I parked outside of the designated park to access the cement walking trail that connects to the wilderness center. I really like this park (is it a park?). It feels safe, it is clean, it's free, and it is removed from the city. You can hear cars from SPID in some areas, but within the actual park you will only hear nature. Walking this park reminded me of a trail I walked inAnn Arbor, MI. It's very nice. They have several points to look out on, and there is plenty birdwatching to do. Unfortunately some people are disrespectful and failed to clean up after their dogs. Why? It's not too difficult to clean up after your dog, and if you don't have bags with you there are several stations providing free bags and disposal containers. Have some common decency, people. All in all, well done, Corpus for providing this to your residents!

Very nice and clean place to go for walks and to take in the scenery. The only thing missing was port a potties. No restrooms in sight only by the play area but most of the time those are closed also.

I went for a hike but ended up sprinting back to my car after I crossed paths with a rattlesnake. On a high note, the snake didn't seemed bothered by me at all (but I wasn't taking any chances) AND it gave me a good workout

Simply stunning. Can't say enough good things. The playground is incredibly thoughtful and covid friendly also. A day very, very well spent with five year old and ten month old!

Love this place. Very hot in the summer, but never saw any snakes or wild animals. A lot of different little trail paths to take. Some water scenery at parts. Mesquite trees and cactus plants with prickly pears, amongst other things. Saw some butterflies. There's a public bathroom to use just in case. I also noticed a water fountain, although I haven't used it to see if it's working. I never actually went inside the Learning Center building yet. I would recommend this place whether for exercise or just to look around and take in the nature.

Such a really neat park! They have a super cool covered play area for kiddos. Also, pets are welcome on a leash. They have doggie pick up bag stations to pick up after your pet. There's also water fountains that have spouts for people, low spouts for pets, and a water bottle filling spout! So nice! The interior wasn't open while we visited so I can't comment on that area, but the exterior was well kept, very nice and fun to walk through.
