Original Vallarta Restaurant

Just spent 40 mins to get my order wrong. Asked for a carne asada burrito just meat and cheese and got a nasty tortilla filled to the brim with ALL RICE and some sprinkles of cheese. Also ordered a gordita and a torta both of those were correct but tasted like crap. Total was $32. Avoid this place. Literally go anywhere else. Taco Bell would have been better.

My morning fishing stop for 20 years. The Migas are very good and come with potatoes and refried beans. Can get very busy in the mornings, especially weekends. The wait staff are friendly and work their tail off trying to keep up with patrons, but it's work the wait. Have patience, enjoy the fresh food.

The best hole in the wall mexi in town. Everything is delicious. Chicken soup, breakfast tacos, and enchiladas - yummmy!!

They serve the best breakfast tacos I've ever tried, and the enchiladas and rice are my go to order. I love supporting small, family-owned businesses like this. Their COVID precautions show just how much they care about quality and safety. I will definitely come again.

Visiting the area for a few days so my host recommended this hole in the wall for breakfast.Apart from misunderstanding my request for ice water and not iced tea the meal was very good.An omelet with cheese and veggies,side of sausage and perfectly cooked spuds and refried beans...no need for the tortillas,which were good.Green and red sauces were high octane.Salsa,mild but flavour full.Now when you look at the prices you know you are not going to get the best cut of this or that,so for what you get and for the money you spend this is a place I would frequent.Heard their fish meals are very good also.Friendly service.

Well, I must preface this review by saying I am sad to give only 1 star... my husband and I have been coming here for a couple years now. There aren't many places to eat in Rockport, especially for vegans. The Original Vallarta has always been our go-to Mexican joint in Rockport, however after this last visit we will be looking elsewhere. Love the decor and home style vibe; service was fast and friendly, as usual. Our waitress even helped us with the menu because it changed since our last visit. Everything was going great until the food came out. We both ordered the fiesta burrito - as recommended by our waitress - a simple bean burrito with lettuce and tomato smothered in enchilada sauce, came with a side of beans and rice. We made it very clear we did not want any meat, cheese or sour cream and it seemed like that was duality noted.When our burritos came out they were covered in what appeared to be a meat sauce and our side of guacamole tasted absolutely horrible. Our burritos did not have lettuce or tomato in them. I ate as much beans out of the inside of the burrito as I could and the sides of rice and beans but left with an awful stomach ache. I can understand now why this restaurant received so many terrible reviews recently... sad to see because it used to be pretty awesome. I recommend going elsewhere...

This is by far the best food we have found in Rockport. Breakfast Tacos are huge and eggs are fluffy and fresh. My wife loves the chocolate pancakes. We eat lunch and dinner there also. Everything is good. (I just want to tell them they should put a privacy fence along the back driveway.)

Homemade Flour Tortillas! Tacos are HUGE! Start with one... thank me later. Food is amazing and staff is friendly.

I placed a to go order today which was a disaster. It took 3 different waitresses to take my order because none of them could understand English well enough to take the order. I was finally told 20 min. It took way longer than expected and I had to ask go my order twice. Once I finally got the order the waffles did not have the chocolate chips I asked for. I confronted the waitress and she said it was just waffles and showed me what she wrote down and said she repeated it to me. However when she repeated it to me she said chocolate chips and I know for a fact they charged me for them because I get this same order all the time and it was higher than normal which means they did charge me for the chocolate chips and not give them to me, then refused to refund me or fix the order. My tacos were not correct either. Don't bother eating here if you don't want to waste your money.

Some of the best breakfast tacos in town. Call ahead to simplify your day. Love all their sauces.
