Oldie's Burgers and More

Wandering around Wimberly and needed lunch so my daughter found Oldies Burgers. It's a small shop that has some seating inside and outside. The staff was nice and friendly.It took around 30 minutes to cook, which I thought was a long time but they may be short staffed. I ordered a burger and my daughter had a patty melt and tater tots. They gave my daughter fries instead of tater tots but we were already out the door when we checked so we kept going. It taste like an average grilled burger, no seasoning. If you like to taste the beef, this is the place for you.

The best hamburger around town! Fun atmosphere and great service. Free beer on Thur and Fri! They have a senior basket that was the perfect size hamburger for me. Really enjoyed sitting outside under the shade trees! yummy

Everything tastes great! Friendly, everything. Comfortable in the heat. Hard to decide between kettle chips, fries or sweet potato fries. I want them all.

My dad used to give me a hard time whenever we would go to a steak restaurant and I would order fish. Or we would go to an Italian and I ordered a steak. He seriously thought that I should keep it "in the zone". Then again, as a teenager I'm sure he thought I was a moron on occasions. And, he was probably right.He's probably shaking his head at me because I had the fish basket at the most famous burger spot in Wimberley. If they have it on the menu, they should do it well! Only, didn't work out that way. It was definitely a yawner. They must have picked up the pre-battered fish in some wholesale spot and they likely went for the bargain spot. I don't think even Costco would have carried it down this low. Piling on, it wasn't even properly cooked. Or should I say fried. There's an art to frying fish and this wasn't that. Maybe the package was supposed to be baked. Either way, it wasn't that good.Fries were ok and the hush puppies were on par with the fish. Yeah, some of you will think it's my fault. It is. I'll try to go back again and rate their burgers in hopes of giving them a better rating. I hate having a poor experience at a local spot. Crossing my fingers for next time.

yummy classic burger and fries (: love that they have cute outside picnic seating, we brought our dog and it was perfect! I would bring your own drinks (water,soda) all they have it bottled.

I like the improved parking from the original location. The improved inside seating with HVAC is welcome as well.I've learned that I prefer their mushroom Swiss burger, over their traditional burger, and their tater tots over their fries.

Can't believe we haven't tried this place before!Burgers were as fresh as they were amazing! Fabulous onion rings as well. I believe this will be a regular stop for our household. And the staff (as well as the patrons) were personal and friendly

Ok burger special, soggy fries. Had tiny Texan 2 piece fish, was good. Tots were extra?? Side of ranch extra. Free water self serve but charged for ICE!? $3 for tea. So so food for two for $37 ??? Nickel and diming...

Counter help was friendly and place appeared clean. Was told the Special was a cheeseburger basket with fries or tots and an iced tea. Ordered that with fries with no bun. We waited 20 minutes for our order to come out. My husband's burger looked good and big and he got onion rings that looked good. My hamburger patty was cold and my fries were cold and hard. There was no cheese on the patty. Obviously my basket had been sitting around for 20 minutes while they cooked my husband's order. I returned to the counter and told them my food was stone cold. They graciously took it from me and within THREE MINUTES brought me a new basket. The hamburger patty was fresh and did taste good, but they either left the same fries in the basket or they scooped up some more cold, hard fries and tossed them in my basket. Essentially paid $10.00 for a tasty hamburger patty. And honestly, I'm really there for the fries so this was disappointing. My husband said his food was hot and the burger and rings were good, but Brookshire makes a better burger for a fraction of the price. The prices are not listed on their board, but he paid around 38.00 for our meals. My "special" was ten dollars which means his burger and onion rings were approximately $28.00. All in all a disappointing trip after hearing so many good things about it.

What a great place!! Clean and lots of tables. Very friendly. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was huge!! Lots of chunky chicken. I decided I needed to try the peach and strawberry pie. Total yuuum. See you next time.
