The "short" version of this review is: Don't rent from here...There's too many other places on the island that rent carts at similar pricing. Don't take a chance on having a bad experience here. Based on other reviews, there seems to be a higher probability that your experience WILL be bad...The VERY long version of this review is as follows: I've rented from this location several times over the years without incident. In fact you may find previous positive reviews from me under their former name "Top Deck". I've enjoyed the convenient location and the online booking that allows you upload documents in advance. Yes, the carts are a little "janky" and the Bluetooth doesn't always work, but I'm not buying it, I'm just renting it for a few days. And a couple of times I've gotten a nice one that I really enjoyed driving. All the carts have gotten me from point A to point B, and that's all I'm really asking from my "cart experience". We camp on the beach in a RV and the cart is our transportation while on the island so we don't have to break camp constantly. The husband will drop me off on the corner of 1A & 11th St. I'll walk to the rental office while he goes to the beach and starts setting up. This has been our "routine" every time we have rented here. If we are arriving outside business hours, I call ahead and get the cart number and code. Again, no issues until this time. This trip I had a large group joining me on the second day so I reserved 2 carts. We were arriving at 4pm on a Wednesday, they close at 6pm. I did not call ahead. Husband drops me off like normal. The office is locked, no one is there. I call the "in case of emergency" phone number, no answer, I leave a message and I wait...10 min. There's a guy outside at the cart rental place next door and I ask him if he knows anything about where they are and he doesn't. He says that I should just keep calling the number, so I do... over the next hour and 20 minutes, I call 19 times, sometimes leaving messages, sometimes not. I also email a reply to the invoice I previously received, I email the address on the web page and fill out a "contact us" form. I tried texting the number, but it said it was a landline, so it didn't go through. At some point I find a second number posted that I throw into the mix, calling that number (which has the same "in case of emergency" recording as the other number). I called that number 8 times. Then I try texting that second number, my iPhone showed my message blue and "delivered". I was elated! After standing out in front of their office for an hour and 20 minutes getting sunburnt and bug bitten I had proof that a message had been received! I tried the "in case of emergency" for the 20th time and someone answered! The guy on the phone said that they decided to close early and someone was supposed to have sent me an email...(they didn't). I got my code and told him I was NOT happy, and I would be back in the morning to pick up my second cart and they needed to figure out a way to make me happy. The next day I showed up to pick up my cart, and the is office locked and no one is there...I call the "in case of emergency" number and a girl answers, tells me to pick out a golf cart and she'll give me a code...I was of course, hoping to speak to someone about my horrendous experience, hoping that part of my $1200 would be refunded, or I would be given the nicest cart on the lot, or even given an apology ...not to happen. I told the girl the very short version and asked to to have a manager call me in the next 3 days...(they didn't). I returned both carts, one at a time, no one was at the office (during business hours) those times either. I was hoping someone would "make it right" so that I wouldn't have to spend even more of my time leaving reviews out there for other people...but no one has contacted me. So now I get to find a new place to rent carts. Maybe I'll try the place next door; there was an employee there every time I stopped by Ocean Carts.

Second time using this company for a golf cart rental in Port Aransas. Both times have been great and didn't have any issues with the cart, sound system worked great and I don't have to worry about losing the keys because you just use a code. Overall very satisfied with the price and will continue to use. Not sure why they have some negative reviews, always had a pleasant experience with them.

They are completely closed down. If you made your reservations in advance, you'll get an automated friendly confirmation reminder about 2 days in advance of your reservation but then you'll get a cancellation email & refund on the day of your reservation. fortunately my sixth sense kicked in several days before we were scheduled to pick up our cart, and when I kept getting a full voicemail box and zero response, I immediately pivoted to a different cart rental business.

AWFUL!! i'm not sure how these guys are still in business! my family went on a spring break vacation and put a lot of money into a golf cart to have for the week. we drove over to pick up the cart and when we got there no one was there? all the golf carts at the front were filthy with bird poop and ripped seats, definitely not a great first impression. the sweet lady next door let us know that we needed to call them to get them to come over... we did... over 50 times (over the span of two days) no answer EVER. the actually blocked my sister. we fought it with our credit card and they fought the charge back claiming we were scamming them? i have no earthly idea who is running this but i highly recommend you look elsewhere for a golf cart rental. i wish i had better things to say about this place but i think that they are scamming people and stealing your money! stay away!!

Although their cart was good and in good condition, and the customer service person who gave me the cart was nice , there were some hiccups where this company showed terrible customer service. So if things go well for you, it may be fine, but if you run into issues, watch out :1. When I got to the place, they told me they didn't have a cart for me (since there was a mechanical issue) and I can come the next day and they won't charge me extra --- crappy for me but I understand stuff happens, but why couldn't they have called me in advance to tell me ? I could have saved time / made alternate arrangements.2. They promised me in person at pick up and drop off that they'll charge me for 1 day less (I had no cart), however they secretly put it as 'store credit' even though their legal terms don't say anything like it.Multiple calls or emails didn't work and I got no response.Only when I filed a dispute with my credit card company, they started following through on it.

Unfortunately they don't manage their inventory. I showed up to pick up my cart and they didn't have any to rent out nor could they provide ETA as to when I could return to get one. Coordinating a pick up and return is time consuming and I wasn't able to come back to pick it up. Additionally, you pay for the rental for 24 hours and they were not able to offer a discount for only a half day of service. Lastly, I have to fight my credit card for the refund, since they have not refunded me. I know it sounds crazy, they just have poor management and systems. I'd recommend doing a more established cart shop.

I bought use of a cart at a fundraiser for abused women. They made the reservation as there was availability (it was based on availability). Then found out they cancelled when I arrived. Very dishonest.

My golf cart experience was very bad. The office manager gave me the wrong code for the golf cart. Just so happened a worker walked by and provided the right code. The golf cart had no lights. I missed the Sat night events because the cart was without lights. I returned the next day and the cart had no fuse. That is the reason the lights were not working. Why does a golf cart have no fuse? When I asked for half of my money back for 1 night, the manager gave me attitude and said that only the owner could make that decision. She then refused to call the manager because it was a Sunday. I am still awaiting a phone call from the owner which will probably never happen. Do not rent from Ocean Carts. They do not maintain their carts. Find another company that maintains their carts and treats customers with respect.
