Obees Mexican Restaurant

Typical Mexican restaurant. Food is well prepared and service was good. The botana plate was great. More food than one person could eat.

Actually, 2 1/2 stars. On Thursday, August 11, 2022, my wife and I visited Obees for the first time and we ordered a botana platter for two. The food was average with not much flavor, however the fajitas were tender. No guacamole on the platter and no jalapeños. Now, about the a/c in the restaurant...GET A DECENT A/C! It was HOT in the restaurant and they had several portable fans throughout, but that didn't help any. When it was time to pay, I asked the cashier for a subtotal, for tip purposes, and she couldn't give me one. She did, however, mention that there was a $1 charge to use a debit card as payment (good thing I had cash). I told her they should let customers know, beforehand, of such a charge and she said it was posted on the entrance door. I told her we didn't visit restaurants to read their entrance door postings. The sign wasn't even noticeable. I've read good reviews about this restaurant pertaining to their breakfast, but their lunch/regular menu and their atmosphere left a lot to be desired. I doubt we'll be returning. NEXT!

I gave Obees two stars for a few reasons. The first time I ordered a botana (chips piled with beans, cheese, meat..super tasty, but not Obees) some of the fajita meat was raw. I called to advise them, and instead of being apologetic they were kinda dismissive. Well, I gave them a second chance. This time i dined in. After my plate being taken to the wrong table, I waited 10 minutes before actually getting my plate. Sorry Obee's, but you have to get it together before I can consider giving your place another shot.

Sweet tea good. Chips hard and cold. Not a good place for quiet conversation. Two children who I think belong to owner came in and were yelling and screaming. All the diners looked annoyed.

Great mexican... especially breakfast mmm theyre salsa is delicious

I've been coming here for the past few years, and pretty much everything is amazing. I can't think of a single time that I left there unsatisfied. Try the enchiladas Suizas or the pollo Santa Fe. :)

If I could give it zero stars I would. This is the most horrible restaurant I have ever been to. While the food at first was tasty I couldn't even finish half of my plate because I began to feel sick. I almost threw up while they were charging me I didn't even get to make it to my house I had to stop by the side of the road and throw up and I knew something was wrong with that place because food has never made me throw up until I went there. Even my sister and dad got sick so I suggest no one goes there or that an inspector goes there because they are either dirty while handling food or serving rotten food. Just never go here I even saw a roach walk up the wall and when we told the waitress she just shrugged and walked away my own dad had to get up and kill this big roach.

As a northerner new to south Texas we stopped here to eat. That was a year and a half ago. We have eaten at numerous places since but this is still our favorite.Nice family atmosphere, reasonable pricing, good sized proportions.

Bad customer service! I placed an order over the phone and they got my order incorrect and they didn't even care. The female employee didn't apologize and kept saying she didn't know what to say. Due to our food allergies my mom and I couldn't eat our food. Also, even after I told her I had to walk to the restaurant to pick up my order and walk back home. Her response to me was "And". I've never received bad service like this before. I supposed I learned my lesson never trust their word and always check my food before I leave.
