Nueces Veterinary Hospital

My oldest dog Lily is a 10 year miniature dachshund and weighs maybe 12 pounds at her heaviest. I have my mother in law take her in to have her nails cut. She calls me very upset because some tech came out and said Lily is very aggressive and they will have to put her on gas because she is peeing and pooping all over the place. So I'm very upset at this point because Lily doesn't even like me and has never been that scared with me and I've cut her nails. I call and talk to "The Doctor" and he says its common. No sir its not normal to sedate a miniature dachshund because I have a Pitbull and Shar Pei which are supposedly aggressive breeds and they have never had to be sedated for having their nails cut. I can promise you I will never bring my dogs back to this place and you better hope there are no harmful affects.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a veterinary clinic. My dog was attacked by another dog. We brought her here. The Doctor walked in the room, would not look at or talk to us, he only addressed the nurse. He told her "I don't have time for this." He told her to send us to an animal hospital way on the other side of Corpus and he made us pay $50 for 15 seconds of nothing. It was about 130pm in the middle of the week. We lost our baby because we could not get her timely care. The is a horrible clinic. If you love your fur baby, do not take them here. They just want easy money. They do not care about your baby.

These people are totally useless. My wife and I work in Alice. Our dog was injured by a car while we were at work. My teenage kids rushed our dog over to try and get him some help. They were completely rejected by these people. They were more concerned about payment than the suffering our dog was undergoing. All they had to do was call us to make arrangements. Instead they rudely turned our kids away in tears. WORTHLESS!!

Love the care and gentle handling of my babies by the staff here. Dr Hoke is awesome and explains things so well. I will def recommend this vet and hospital to friends and family. I have brought my pets here for years and love the service and care.

I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience here. I took my 2 young male cats to be neutered here and when making the appointment I specifically told the lady at the counter that I only wanted the neutering done and the rabies vaccine. She told me it would be approximately $45 per cat for those services to be done. Well when I went to pick up my cats the lady at the counter (same one as before) told me my total would be $159. When I asked why it was so high she informed me that they gave my cats all of the vaccinations they had to offer. I told her that I only asked for the neuter and rabies when I set the appointment. She did not offer to come up with some type of solution to the issue whatsoever. The only thing she could say was "well it looks like someone modified the account".I will never visit this institution ever again and I hope other people don't take their animals here to get ripped off as well. All they want is your money.

This is by far the best vet I've taken my animals to. I've only had good experiences here with the staff and the veterinarian.

I've taking my dogs and cats here for years, they have a great facility and staff and we love Dr. Hoke.

If I could give a negative review I would. I run a rescue in CT and I rescued a momma dog and her nine puppies from a shelter. There was no local foster so I boarded the mom and babies at this clinic. I called frequently for updates and was sent pictures of babies. They were scheduled to transport to CT at just under weeks old. The day of transport I received a call a puppy had diarrhea and tested positive for parvo. They assured me they had expertise in treating parvo and that they're so successful other vets send their puppies to them for treatment. One by one over the next few days puppies became sick and died. I tried to transfer the remaining five pups out to a parvo clinic but they refused to be there for weekend transport. 9/9 babies died. One baby supposedly died shortly after arrival, 5 weeks earliet but I was never informed! I requested updates, treatment protocol and estimates for treating the sick puppies with minimal or no response. The mom was picked up and immediately taken to another vet for evaluation. She was diagnosed with severe bilateral conjunctivitis and bilateral ear infections. How did that go unnoticed at this vets office? Parvo has an incubation period of less than a week so the only way Luna and her pups could have been exposed was at this clinic by cross contamination. To make a horrible situation worse Dr. Hoke billed me for the treatment. Avoid this vet at all cost.

I had called earlier in the day to try to get some help with my cat and the receptionists was very impatient and did not want to help me. She placed me on hold and never return. I tried to call back and no one answered so I called back again and she told me that she would call me back in 10 minutes and 10 minutes past and I never received a call back. This is the worse phone call I have ever experienced at this vet. Your professionalism stinks and this is how you treat your clients.
