Mrs. Woody Jr's

After 2 days in Port A, my friend and I were heading back to Austin SH 361 to padre island and had problem with car. Called my roadside assistance and got towed to Mrs. Woody Jr's. They were real busy, but they checked it out quickly and fortunately found a plastic shroud was rubbing my tire and removed it. Less than 30 minutes and $50 and we were on our way home. Nice office staff Cory was very pleasant and professional. Hence, I would highly recommend them.

I had a flat tire and had to stop on 361, a Good Samaritan with a portable air pump stopped and was able to get sufficient air in the tire for me to get to a repair place. Since I'm visiting from out of town I asked the local man that helped me where I can get the tire repaired. His response should have been an alarm bell as he said unfortunately Woody's is the only place in Port A. I went to Woody's and the first person I spoke with was rude and short in his answer. Finally got the tire checked out and was told it could not be repaired but they could have one here by 3PM. Got a new tire to match the other 3, which fortunately have low miles so the tread wear is not too far off from the new one. Woody's charged me $580+ for the new tire. The same tire at Discount Tire is $260. I'm extremely aggravated that this business would price gouge to this extreme. They can only get away with it because they're the only tire repair shop in town. When I questioned the pricing they had no comment, I told the owner it must be nice to be the only game in town. I've given them one star because you have to chive one to post. One positive was that the individual that performed the repair and the young man that brought the vehicle out were both very friendly and professional.

Discovered a nail in one of our van's tires yesterday morning, my wife called Mrs. Woody Jr's and the young lady said she could get us right in. I limped the 4 miles up to Port A, and true to their word, as soon as I checked in, they got right on it. Was in and out within 30 minutes; tire is holding air perfectly. Big shout out for outstanding service to this Winter Texan. Will recommend to all of our fellow Winter Texans!

Came to port A on vacation, I blew 1 power steering line, I know this because I am a 15 year diesel mechanic and I had taken my truck apart here at the Air BNB myself cause I was going to repair it myself, I came to a dead end due to a lack of tools that I needed to complete the job so I called Mrs. woody Jr's shop, I had the "owner" on the line as she stated, I tried explaining my situation to her, but all she could do was talk over me every single time I tried to tell her something, she was very disrespectful and told me just to get the truck up there because she could get the job done before close so I take my truck up there after already diagnosing it myself and they give me a call 10 minutes after I left and tell me that I need 2 power steering lines of which they cannot get, I then went outside with the mechanic to show him that it is only one line that they need and he tells me that I am correct and then also tells me that he could not get the job done in time if he wanted to. She just wanted he 85$ diag fee, Complete waste of time! Rude owner! She will talk over you and act like she knows what she doesn't, if you need an oil change I'm sure they can handle it. But other then that, steer clear of woody Jr's

Mrs. Woody Jr's was a lifesaver! We had gotten a flat tire on our rental as we had just arrived in Port A (it was a screw probably leaving the airport) and it was going to take Budget too long to come take a look at the tire, as we had a fishing excursion booked. Mrs. Woody Jr's was able to get us in and out in less than half an hour and we had plenty of time to spare (ha, get it?) before our fishing trip. They only charged us $35 (we would've tried to figure out how to do it ourselves, but the car came with no lugwrench and no jack handle) and were able to fix the original tire. The guys were friendly, professional, and had even offered my dad a beer while we waited. There were some fun shoes and handbags to check out at the Bella Bella Boutique while we waited- kind of an eclectic place, a whole mix of things. While staying in Texas I had my oil changed by this outfit. Returning to Minnesota, when changing oil, the oil plug had been cross threaded in the pan. The filter was put on dry, I had to resort to hammer and chisel to remove it. If I was to go back there, I'd sue these jerks for incompetence, horrible service, and the $600 in parts it took to repair my car. AVOID THIS OUTFIT AT ALL COSTS!!!

As luck would have it, my truck developed a leak of antifreeze just when the Siberian Express cold was approaching. We called the shop and they were able to get us in that day. I thought they might have to order parts and have a wait. We were given an estimate for the replacement of the water pump which seemed reasonable. We left the truck that afternoon and to our surprise we got the call the next morning to come pick it up. The mechanic, Stuart had worked through the night to complete the repairs. I highly recommend Mrs. Woody's for your auto repair. Fair price and reliable.

Excellent service with quality work. Very knowledgeable mechanics. Only full service garage on Mustang Island. Expensive.

Thank you so much for getting us back on the road during our vacation! If you're in Port A & need an honest, fairly priced, fast service mechanic/repair shop- look no further. And they have a super cute gift shop!

Don't bother trying for a State Inspection. Just moved here, Friday went to get Inspection, inspector was "gone for the day "..2 pm. No biggie. Monday, arrived 11:50, inspector was "going to lunch, will be back at 1". Came back at 1, "inspector left late for lunch, back at 130, he gets an hour". No biggie, came back 2:00, "he's left for the day". Just don't lie. If you're lying about an Inspection, what else do you lie about?
