Mr. G's BBQ

The meat is sooooo super tender. Really surprised with the tenderness if the sausage- amazing. The talk glass bottle of Mexican Coke made my day.

Do yourself a favor and go to bbq man... don't mind paying 20+ a plate but wen the food is atrocious and inedible is a different story... cheese and crackers where good and did manage to finish all the potato salad.

Food was grate but the people stood out missG was the BEST thank You'll for everything.

When I got there I ordered a two meat plate with ribs and brisket upon getting my food the mac and cheese had water in it the ribs where tough and sticky the brisket was chewy like bubble gum would not recommend and will not be returning here was not worth the $21 I paid I practically got a bag of chips and a coke 21 bucks

I had eaten here once before and really enjoyed it. I was craving bbq and decided to drive from the island to Mr. G's. The restaraunt was not busy at all except for two other tables. I ordered the mixed plate which was 2 meats, potato salad, beans and trimmings. The waiter brought me sweet tea which was very delicious and refreshing. I ordered double brisket and sausage. The waiter never brought me cheese and crackers which I remember eating the last time. I finished my tea and had to call the waiter for a refill. I noticed the people next to me were eating crackers with cheese, so I asked the waiter for some. He replied that they were only available after 4 p.m. and it was 3:45 but said he would bring some. Well he never brought my crackers and brought my food. I did not know because the waiter did not ask me but you can order marble or lean brisket, only found out because I heard him ask a different table. The food was ok but not worth the 15.00. I had two good size slices of brisket but half of each slice was all fat. The other side was ok but a little dry. I had to ask the waiter for bread, napkins and silverware. The waiter never came back to ask if we needed anything. As I was paying, the cashier did ask how everything was and I told her that I had better experiences. She then asked what was wrong but I told her that it was ok and that I would write my review on yelp. Not sure if the waiter who was an older gentleman was having a bad day, but he really made my experience so bad that I will never return. Update: came back a second time and still did not like it. Brisket tasted like it was made in an oven. Also, they do not trim the fat. So if you order stringy beef, be prepared to get about 1/2 of the slice with fat. No smoke ring on brisket either. Would definitely recommend Cottens bbq any day!

Super friendly and welcoming staff! I got the brisket burger and it was THE BEST burger I've had in a really long time! The Beans were bomb and very well seasoned! I'd like to think I'm a BBQ connoisseur, and I Highly recommend Mr.G's.

I called at 7:38pm to place a phone order. The restaurant says it's open til 8 pm. When I called I was told they were already closing as we speak. :(Food is good here just disappointed that I couldn't place an order.

Julie and her staff here at Mr. G's serve some really good bbq and delicious dessert along with good old fashioned southern hospitality. Stop in soon you'll be glad you did.

Overpriced Trash. Dry brisket, tasteless old beans, average potato salad. For 3 "poor boys" (brisket and sausage) 2 sides and 3 drinks is almost $90. FOH. Save a trip go somewhere else.
