Morton's Drive-In

Coming back from a weekend at the coast and stopped here to get fuel and a snack. This place is freaking awesome. Great selection of snacks and drinks and you can even crack open someBeer or wine as you look at the decor and historical photos. Folks are incredibly friendly and engaging. Is you pass through it is definitely worth a stop!

Morton's is the class act of the highway travel stop lot. And I don't say that lightly. It's the Buc-ee's of Halletsville!Part restaurant, part convenience store, part traveler's haven, they do it all and do it all well. If you want a full Southern-style home-cooked meal, you can have that at Diane's Diner. If you want snacks and drinks, that's fine, too. If you want wine or microbrews, they've got it. If you just need to go potty, you won't find a cleaner place to do your business. And if your dog needs to do the same, well they've even got Rowdy's Rest Stop just for dogs to pee, poop, and play.Very friendly staff. Can't say enough about that, but it makes all the difference in what makes Morton's best.Although I have to admit I'm a devout fan of Buc-ee's, I sure wish there were more than just the one Morton's location. It's so well-done, I couldn't believe there aren't more. Their motto is food and family. I guess if they tried to franchise, they could no longer live up to at least one of those. And I respect that.The rare SIX stars. Don't miss!

Very spacious and impeccably clean restrooms makes Morton's a great place to hit head on the road. They also have a surprising selection of Texas microbrews and other interesting beers, but plenty of the Bud/Miller/Keystone Lites too (for those that drink that stuff). Also a good selection of sodas and actual groceries for the folks who live here. Morton's was easy in and out, with a great selection of snacks and a food court hung with local sports championship banners. We liked the hometown feel of the place, but we LOVED the bathrooms 5 clean and friendly stars.

Love, Love, LOVE Morton's! Discovered them some years ago while traveling up to visit Sherwood Forest Faire in McDade. They are now a tradition for my family every Sherwood season. If you haven't already, you Must eat at Diane's dinner inside Morton's (his wife's name). Their food is Down Home Style Goodness! Robby, Corpus Christi, Tx

Stopped for fuel. Store was immaculate as were rest rooms. Decided to try some omlettes. Best omlettes We'veever had anywhere. 7 hours later we headed back to try another meal. Steak fingers were unbelievable as was the 'not yo mamas grilled cheese sandwich'. Every inch of the entire property is flawlessly clean. Detail minded owners and staff is my guess. Serious props to y'all

Awesome breakfast-best place to go on Sunday morning after mass. Love the omelets and pancakes. The bacon sandwich makes you want to come back. Great chocolate soft serve ice cream! Our go to place to come as you are and leave with a happy tummy. Super clean and great employees.

Pure awesome! Nice staff, great local food. Must get the Dublin fountain drink offerings. The food is fresh and made there. No yucky microwave junk. The white chocolate macadamia nuts cookie was best I've ever had. Make this a travel pit stop destination. PS: bathrooms are super clean and there is a great dog park too around back.

Cleanest public bathroom I've ever been in. New and modern. They have toilet seat sanitizer, spacious stalls, self flushing toilets and excellent hand dryer. They even had hand sanitizer right outside restroom. They had plenty of snack and drink selections. I got some Texas Pecan Brittle and a Diet Dr. Pepper. It also had a small restaurant but we didn't try that. It also had a neat little section that had antiques to look at and stretch my legs for a bit. We stopped in on the way to and from our trip to Rockport.

Clean bathrooms! Awesome coffee bar. Very nice beer selection in there walk in refrigerator. This is not just any gas station, they have everything including antiques. The restaurant serves great pancakes. We haven't tried lunch yet but we will next time.
