Moondog Seaside Eatery

We walked in, with no one at the front, and we made the mistake of seating ourselves. All of the personnel ignored us and as we were walking out after half hour waiting on service, the girls were very snotty and made rude remarks as we were leaving. Horrible experience. This is the first time I've ever made a bad review, but this establishment deserves this poor review!!!

Was nice to find a place that allowed our dog on the outside porch. Wife got seafood and I got a burger. Tasted good. Lil too much salt on the margarita. Needs work on the drinks. Waitress was nice. Will go back.

It's one of the few places that offers seating with a view of water. Food is okay, but service is always slow. I realize that the town is a tourist/seasonal place. But goodness. Service is good.... Just super slow

Group of 4 -- 2 adults and 2 kids -- on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Not very busy, but still a 20-minute wait. Sat outside on a nice patio overlooking the water and a server came up right away. It went downhill from there. We ordered waters and soft drinks and then waited, and waited. And saw our server bring drinks out to other tables. The bartenders on the patio were having fun with the local patrons and cussing loud enough for all to hear...plus sitting and vaping and being loud and obnoxious. After 15-20 minutes, still no drinks. Made eye contact with the server and he acknowledged that we were waiting, but then we waited longer. Finally got up and left. Went to the Irish restaurant down the street and had a great experience!Won't be visiting Moondog again.

The wife and I were visiting Rockport and stopped at Moondog for a bite to eat. We both had the Grouper Sandwich (cornmeal), sweet potato fries, a Shiner Bock and then an Old Fashion cocktail. We are used to beer battered grouper sandwiches in Florida, but this one rolled in cornmeal was excellent. The buns were fresh & good and the sweet potato fries were great especially with the spicy sauce. The Shiner Bock was nice and cold and the Old Fashion cocktail was among one of the best we've had. You could actually taste the alcohol in it. The service was great and they brought out water for our old dog while we dined on the patio looking out over the intercostal waterway.

Every time I am in Rockport, I always make it a point to stop at Moondog! The food is always delicious & the patio with a the view is so beautiful. I went on a Saturday, so it was a bit busy & service could have been faster but everything else was perfect. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, I could get a whole plate of them. All the food was amazing. Will be back again!

Arrived back in Fulton Bay last night. Wanted a, as my child put it "knife and fork" kinda meal. We had not been to Moondog yet so we ventured inside. It's your typical seaside eatery. Open to the great outdoors, right on the gulf. It's a pretty big place, not a lot of patrons at that time. If you don't like cats ‍, don't go, but they are sweet and don't bother the patrons. The menu is simple but has a good choice of everything. I had the tacos minus the cilantro. They were pretty good. The fish was a bit dry so I shared it with my feline friend. The mango salad was dry and not sweet, but still good. I also ordered calamari and it was surprisingly delicious. The sauce was hot and runny which was odd but still ok. Crunchy! Yummy. My son ordered the Alfredo with gulf shrimp and he said it was very good. The shrimp was big and grilled. Good serving sizes too. For us, the service was quick and easy. Some others were complaining but they had only been seated a few minutes prior. The issue was quickly resolved once the employee was enlightened. We will go back. Mostly for the feline company....but also to try other items on the menu.

We always prefer a waterfront restaurant when in an area that has that option. Moondog delivers with covered and uncovered options along with inside with limited water view options.Menu choices plentiful enough to satisfy a family of picky diners.We had excellent service. The restaurant only had a few patrons when we arrived but volume increased and more staff available to handle the surge.Moondog is not fine dining but a place we'd return to support a local business and enjoy the view.

Was a great salad! And a delish margarita. Sat outside in the deck and watched the boats come in. Lots of shade on the deck about 3 pmish.
