Everything about this place was nothing short of amazing. I'll start with the service!! All the severs were kind and were always smiling. Very helpful when my mother in law had trouble understanding the menu. One of our servers explained in detail the plates and was so patient about it. The food! I thought the menu would be all Mexican food but it's more like Mexican and home cookin. They offer fried chicken!!! My plate was a "mini" but very generously served. Everything we ordered was delicious!!We will definitely be back again!!!

Super delicious little hole in the wall restaurant. We started with some coffee, small 8 oz menudo, I got huevos divorciados and the hubs got some biscuits and gravy which were so good! Service was quick and efficient! Will be coming back!

The wait staff was top notch but the food was sub par. First my chicken fried steak was cold and dry like it's been sitting out for a while fries where grease logged. Best thing out of my meal was the onion rings and toast I use to go to this restaurant a while back. Sad really sadWhen they asked if everything was ok I said no and they just walked away.

I tried this for lunch yesterday. I thought the food was delicious!! I had the Tampiqueno Plate and loved it!! Maybe a little more expensive than some other restaurants, but still very reasonable for the amount of food. The staff was exceptionally friendly!! The RGV has some of the best cafes in the entire country, and you have to be good to survive. That is why they have been here for over 50 years. The ambience? Just what a family cafe in the RGV. Should look like, comfortable
