Mom & Pop's RV and Fishing Retreat

Love, love, love Mom and Pop's....we took our new RV on her main voyage and Dina and Pat were so helpful showing us the things we did not know. The pier was perfect and was equipped with chairs and nets. It is so quiet and peaceful, we could not have asked for a better experience. The sunsets are spectacular. We are already trying to plan a return trip before the end of the year.

My husband and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary here. This is an ideal location if you enjoy being out of the city and off the beaten path. The cabin we stayed in (Trophy Trout) was charming, with every amenity needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay, and then some. It not only has a front porch overlooking the bay, but also comes with a porch cat! The fishing pier is right out in front, and has a nice big fish cleaning station attached, which would have been great if we had caught any fish. The wind picked up during our visit and stirred up the water so that it wasn't terrific for fishing, but we still had an amazing time. Mom and Pop (Dina and Pat) are both really great people who helped us enjoy our stay immensely. Some things not to miss in the area: The Big Tree, Goose Island State Park, Fulton-Rockport beach and pier, beachcombing on the bay, birdwatching everywhere, exploring the small town of Lamar and vicinity.... Can't say enough good things about this peaceful, clean and welcoming place.
