Mesquite Wood Steakhouse

Picked up a steak dinner and a grilled chicken dinner. Both delicious. Had some South Texas egg rolls also and they were good. Getting ready to order dinner from them again tonight. Thank you mesquite woods steakhouse for having such great food that is easy to take out and take to work.

"Never judge a book by its cover", well said and still holds true to this place! While the outside is not by any means a representation of the inside decor and much less the amazing flavorful dishes served here. We all tried sever dishes and will say:Ribeye- 9/10Quail- 10/10Chicken Fried Steak- 9/10Flounder- 10/10Sautéed Mushrooms- 10/10Loaded Mash- 10/10As a recommendation to the restaurant, try the Akaushi Beef for all your beef dishes(Dean and Peeler Market will get you covered), you will be pleasantly surprised! A most definite place to eat and enjoy a GREAT MEAL!

A hidden gem! My coworkers and I came here for dinner while staying in town for a public meeting. I found this place on Yelp and completely agree with the previous reviews. The exterior leaves a lot to be desired, and the interior is sparse. However, the menu is extensive and the staff is wonderful.They've recently obtained a beer & wine license, so the selections are a bit sparse. Don't let that deter you, just beware. I ordered the grilled flounder, which came on a bed of rice, with boundain balls, and two sides (I chose two orders of fried okra, but there was a vast selection). Other orders I voided the mesquite grilled salmon, steak, a chicken salad, and ribs. Everyone loved their food! I heard no complaints and pretty much everyone finished their plates. I can say that my meal was incredible. I would absolutely come back here again! Prices are reasonable, plates are large, staff is so sweet, and food is amazing.

This place is not much on ambiance, but oh my goodness, the food is amazing!! My husband and I have been here twice and both times the food was great and the service was excellent! The first time I had their ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Today, I had the best piece of salmon I've had in a long time atop a salad! I was surprised and impressed.Their staff is great, very accommodating and attentive. Today we had a table of eight and everyone was happy with their selections of food. We had brought a cake to celebrate two birthdays and they took it right away and kept it in the fridge till we were ready for it. Our waitress was perfect, with just the right amount of attentiveness. We will definitely be returning!

Went to this place about six months ago. Ordered a ribeye that was between $25 and $30. I asked for it medium. When it came out is was about 1/4" thick and well done. They sent it back and when the other arrived it was even thinner than the first and hanging together by sinew. Utterly revolting looking. Still, I took a bite. Completely flavorless and soggy, no char. Wish I had taken a picture. Literally the sorriest steak I have ever been served. After forcing down that one bite down, I pushed my plate away and headed for the cashier. I was one of maybe four people in the restaurant at the time and so I could not have gone unnoticed that I had left that pathetic steak all but untouched on the table. Still, no one asked me how everything was. I paid and left, never to return. Cannot fathom how this place is scored what it is.

Great place for a mesquite smoke taste. The NY strip and chicken were on point. Definitely, get it medium rare!!

0 star to this place. If you buy a freaking burger for 12.99 and a soda you end up paying 40 dollars because of their stupid policy is to give a obligatory 18% tip . Plus when you pay they ask you if you want to give them tip so they charge you 2 tip and for what . waitress is not worth a penny when she is rude. she didn't even give us silverware, we had to ask her if she could give us refills and never did she come and check to see if we needed anything else.

To expensive paid 30 bucks for one salad but service is good just to pricey for the quality of food

We just happened to stop here for lunch and had the most wonderful experience. The service was great and the food was amazing. We had quail, chicken, and salmon that were all cooked over mesquite wood and had the most delicious flavor and moisture. I would highly recommend stopping here if you happen to drive through Kenedy.
