I had blackened shrimp tacos. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. They were very large! Everything was VERY fresh and tasty. My friend had the fish and shrimp. It was a huge plate. The shrimp were huge. The fries were fresh. The coleslaw was fresh with a great flavor. The price was excellent for the value you received. The staff is very attentive. The chief's name is Tiger. Great food. The waitress we had was Stacy. She was excellent. Highly recommend you give them a try.

We've returned to Merida's after a long time... and I have mixed feelings. The food is still unbelievably delicious. We went at happy hour: mussels, albóndigas, grilled Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, empanaditas....hot, flavorful, unique. It's just that the music outside was head banging rock, too loud. I asked for something less intense. Then some serious country music was played. Still loud. They kindly checked in, but I asked for it to be turned down some more. My husband and I had to yell at each other to be heard. We were the only ones outside. Finally they turned it so low, the music was almost off. Thank you! Maybe some Spanish music at the tapas restaurant would be better? Just sayin'.

Sat at the bar. Kendall did a great job explaining all the dishes and drinks. Overall great experience. Drinks were great. I had the Jalapeño Margarita and my wife had a G&T. Both drinks very well done. Jalapeños Marg was nice and spicy! Food was great. Ordered 4 tapas/menu items which was enough for 2 hungry people. Chips and salsa, mussels, shrimp, and tiny empanadas. Great flavor...would have liked the empanadas to be a little bit bigger. Dessert was Ok, but prob would not order the pineapple cheesecake empanada again. Great atmosphere at the bar with plenty of room for the food...a great view to the canal, and good service. Live music inaside would have been great!

Excellent food and great service! We sat inside, but they have a great deck on the canal if it's not too hot out. Highly recommend the Ceviche and Seafood Mac n Cheese.

One was delicious but overall pretty disappointing. The chicken was bland and had very little flavor even with the pineapple. The confit was warm with the tomato on top which wouldn't be bad if the temperature of the bread was not room temp. This was just a matter of someone making it the wrong way. So maybe it will be better. Overall it was overpriced for what you get. Other options are available in corpus that are better. Now it may get better so we will see. The view and environment is beautiful.

Been going here for a while, even the grand opening. Tonight it was slow in the restaurant but the 4 servings were brought at once which was odd and at varying temps. I shared the mussels with my wife and I counted 6 unopened. No way the chef didn't notice. Wife didn't even finish. Brought it to our waitress' attention and she offered to replace? Why not just take it off the bill? Won't be back.

This is a hidden gem. My favorite place to grab an amazing drink made to your tasting thanks to Steve, the General Manager. If you're not a drinker, you must try the baked oysters (either flavor), the seafood paella, but for sure the shrimp and grits are a must. If you caught fish, they will cook your cleaned catch. The staff is so helpful and accommodating. Please don't pass them up, they are right before the white cap.

Excellent experience after arriving by boat on a Tuesday right after opening at 11am. The new, expansive dock setup is superior to any other Island, waterfront restaurant that I am aware of. JR the bartender seated me in the extended bar area at my request and provided top notch service for the duration. The renovations they made after the German bakery exit are tasteful and well done. The menu was a pleasant surprise as it is quite varied with a Spanish, tapas focus but without losing the tried and true staples of Mikel Mays. The yucca fries were especially spectacular. Like any new restaurant, there are adjustments occurring, which can be a challenge, but Meridas has quite a lot of potential! They have intriguing plans for dockside music and a waterfront bar. Definitely come check out Meridas!

This is a great and totally unexpected find. A most unassuming location with outstanding food. My wife and I enjoyed a Bloody Mary so chock full of extras it could reasonably serve as an appetizer. We had planned to order paella and anticipating a 30 minute wait time, ordered chips and salsa. Both were delivered with a festive and unique presentation. (Minutes later we realized we had ordered way too much food).Next we shared an exceptional Cesar salad, again, beautifully presented and delightfully delicious. By the time the best arrived, the paella, we were almost stuffed. Nevertheless finding room to dig in, we were greeted with a sumptuous final serving which mostly left with us in a box. For whatever room left, we tasted the paella and looked at each with the same reaction. This was really good! The only word of warning is I hope I haven't raised expectations too high. I know that when we walked in the door, neither of us expected the outstanding and memorable dining experience we shared. We highly recommend Merida's Tapas & Cantina. Don't order an appetizer. It's too much!

Everything was really great from the ambience to the service and the food. I went for lunch for my birthday with a 5 total. The waiter was accommodating and on top of everything. The cook even came out and asked about how someone in the group wanted her fish due to her mentioning she can't tolerate any spice. So nice he took the time to clarify that. We were there for a while and the waiter continued to check on us and allow us to linger. The space is very open and clean and the patio has a beautiful view of the canal and fun, bright colored chairs. We loved it and were already talking about going back.
