Definitely crossed more than one grass snake while walking here so be cautious. But generally speaking lots of deer in the early morning

I absolutely love this park! It is one of my absolute favorite places in South Texas. The city of Rockport does an immaculate job maintaining the park, from trimming grass on the side of the paved paths to making sure that the natural trail is always trimmed low. There is a group of people who walk/jog in the early mornings here. The park opens at 6 AM. The part that is paved near the soccer fields and the playground is well lit. But the part that is closer to the ponds towards the back of the park is not. So if you do decide to walk here in the early morning, for safeties concerns, I always kept to the front half of the park. But the dog park is on a whole other level! Between the small and dog park it has to be a little over an acre. It is extremely well shaded with lots of trees. There are obstacles for your dog to play on. They have a fresh source of water as well as a self filling water station. I absolutely love that they have a pretty significantly long natural trail. My joints don't love pavement but they do love natural trails and oftentimes parks they are overlooked or paved over. This park is a gem for the people of Rockport and those who visit.

Yes, there's a dog park in Rockport! Tried finding trails and dog friendly areas, and this has been one of the best finds! Very shady, with plenty of space and places to sit. Wish there were more dogs around when we came! Idk how many people actually know about this- I've frequented rockport for years with family, and just now found it! Drive past the baseball fields and play scapes at Memorial Park, and you'll see two acres of the dog park!

Not easy to find. First maps took me to a dead end. Go into Memorial park, past skate park and ball fields, go all the way to back then park and walk past pond, go to the right and you'll see it

This dog park is amazing! It is tucked away inside of Memorial Park. There is a section for small dogs and a section for larger dogs. Plenty of sun and shade, grass and sand, benches and picnic tables, a water station, balls to play with and tons space to run! Our dogs loved going there everyday. Sometimes we had the whole park to ourselves, other days it had all sorts of dogs running around having a grand old time. Totally worth the visit. Your dogs will love it!

Birds! Birds! Birds! Rockport Memorial Park is the central park of a whole system of parks that make up migratory bird habitats and refuges. The 100+ acre park is the largest public park in the city, and has a long system of rivers, marshes and swamps where long legged birds with long pointy beaks hang out. Some of the birds here have giant wingspans and could easily take out someone. There's a cool nature trail that's 1.65 miles long, and has all kinds of informative signs along the way to point out the high points of the natural areas, which native trees are growing, and other interesting facts. There are also soccer fields, baseball diamonds and other facilities for team sports. If you're looking to just lounge out, they have picnic tables and plenty of park benches. They even have a dog park, where you can let Fido off his leash. At the time of my visit, they didn't have a cat park yet. Keep an eye out for playgrounds, and fitness centers as well! This park has it all. Parking is easy, since it's such a large park, and there are dedicated lots. Restrooms are clean, and located in the parking lot. There's a big pavilion here that can be rented from the city for your next BBQ. Check the website for more info.

Great little park! I took the grandkids & the lab! The dog park was nice & the kids had a blast on the toys! I was quite impressed with the restrooms. Not many park bathrooms are that clean nor actually have hand soap! This one had running water, soap AND dryers that worked!! We will be back !
