McCaughan Park

Driving through the area, we were skeptical there was actually a beach and park. We came during the busy Memorial Day weekend - once late on Sunday and then early Monday. Early Monday was of course less crowded and easier to maneuver. The beach is on the dirty side, but I don't know if that's because of the long weekend. To be fair, I did see someone conducting beach clean up. The wind was wild so there were plenty of waves. My young girls had a blast. The sand has a ton of shells. Since I'm not local, I don't know if that's typical of the beach and area, or if that's attributed to the time of the year and weather. It was annoying having to cross the shells before actually getting into the water, so I can imagine some kids not enjoying that sensation. Ultimately my kids got the beach trip they wanted and were all smiles.
