Maya Mexican Restaurant

Stopped in for a quick bite and was so impressed! We had the bean and cheese nachos and the special of the month--one beef taco, one cheese enchilada, and guacamole--and everything was delicious. The flavors were spot on, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The service was excellent--super friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. If you're in Cuero and craving great Tex-Mex, this little spot is definitely worth a visit!

The last time I ate here was with Mom when we were in Cuero. Deja vu, huh? Thankfully we made it in time for the lunch specials. We both had the #11, which was cheese enchiladas for $9.99. The posted note at the table was rather deceiving. It stated a savings of 3.99% if paying cash. The cashier debated what the sign said. Could tell I was on the losing end of the argument. Whatever! Overall, the service was mediocre and the food a little above average. (Chips seemed rather hard.) Oh well! At least the restaurant seemed clean and well-maintained. My friend and I both had the seafood enchiladas and they were excellent. The colorful chairs and tables were fun and the staff was very responsive. The food came out quickly which was good because we were hungry.

I arrived and immediately without hesitation received tortilla chips with two salsitas (red and green) and water.I ordered the carne asada plate that comes with a cheese enchilad, rice and beans and choice of tortillas. The food was good, tortillas were warm and service was excellent. i would go back to this place again. They have my business.

2nd time here. As usual. It was steaming hot and delicious. We are going to eat here every time we visit Cuero.

We have eaten at Maya several times and the food and drinks have always been excellent. Except for last night, we could not eat the rice. It was cunchy as if it had been made several day earlier and then rehated for serving. When we brought to the attention of our waitress all she said was " Yes, rice is crispie." I was flabbergasted.No offer to replace the rice, nothing. I am hoping that this is just a blip in the service, because this looks to be the best place in town for Mexican food.

Third time here. Three times requested a lime for my husband's tea. The third person finally went to the bar to get I guess, but then my street tacos came out with four on the plate. Service here is not the best. However the second time I ate here was with a big group and service was good. It wA also dinner not lunch. So...Street tacos were good and my husband had La Maya combo which was also good. The taco meat was tasty and all the salad toppings were fresh. Th enchilada was not flat with all the cheese melted out. Guacamole was good and chunky. Salsa is disappointing. I asked for green salsa and the waitress said yes, but she never brought it. We also asked for some pickled jalapeños also - never got those either. Food good drinks good, but service just not.

Not too bad overall, service was pretty good, nice decorative glasses and plates, really liked the green salsa that came out with chips. The burrito was not very good, filled with weird tasting chicken, lettuce, and American cheese, definitely not something I would order again.

This decorative facility is proud of their meat, cheese, and mushrooms. This is my favorite Mexican dish of all time. Chips and salsa is good and so is their frozen margaritas! Can't wait to go back!
