Marroquin's Tortilla Factory

We ordered barbacoa, chicharrón, carnitas, and tripitas by the pound at Marroquín Tortillería, and it was some of the best Mexican food we've ever had in Corpus Christi! Everything was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic, delicious Mexican food. The service was also excellent. Definitely a must-try!

Drive thru only, but there are 2 separate windows with separate lines. A waitress came out to the car to take the order. Bean egg and cheese taco was hot, had a good ratio of eggs beans and cheese, and was a little bit larger than the standard size. The Tortilla was a thickness level 2 (1 being thin and 3 being thick), dense, and was noticeably dry on the surface - as in I had an initial sensation of it drying out my tounge. Despite this, the Tortilla was fresh and chewy. On the other hand, the salsa was a disappointment. It had a pickled flavor, likely from canned jalapeños, that I'm not a fan of. The salsa limited the potential of the taco. I'd see if they have other options than the green (I was not offered a choice)

Flour tortillas 75 cents each!! Really!? Online showed they were $2.99 a dozen. The lady said that was old information. That may be, but $9 for a dozen of tortillas is ridiculous. They're not worth that much. I'll stick to Torterilla Guadalajara in Annaville, they are the best after all. Wasted almost my entire lunch hour driving there and back to be let down. Now I have to rush to my own neighborhood after work to get there in time.

This is a hidden gem in Corpus Christi. I've been going to this gem since I was a little kid. The one thing that they specialize on is the Barbacoa. There is no other place that comes close to the greatness of this barbacoa. I would put this as the #1 place to get barbacoa. Be there early and bring cash because they run out fast and they don't take cards. The corn tortillas come from their own tortilla machine and the salsa is perfect for the tacos you'll devour when you eat their barbacoa. What we usually get when we come down to corpus to visit my family is: 1 1/2 pounds of pura carne de barbacoa, 1/2 pound of chicharron, 1/2 pound of carnitas, 2 lg orders of corn tortillas, extra salsa, cilantro, cebolla and limes... with that we feed at least 6 adults and 4 kids. Try it out and you'll be coming back. I know I started when I was a kid and now I take my kids too!

This place is fantastic. Clean. Perfectly prepared food. Lunch specials including tea for under $6. Don't let the location scare you off. Cash only. I had the #14, best described as a little bit of everything. Super nice staff.

They only accept cash. Food was ok but nothing to write home about. May have been the stuff i ordered. Their home made corn tortillas taste like regular corn tortillas you buy at the store. The barbacoa was in chunks and not shredded like other places. On the down side, it was a bit dry and non greasy. I didn't care for the tripas. My dad loved them because they were crunchy. Maybe I'll go back and try something else.

The food was amazing. I really love their carne guisada tacos and gorditas. The chicharrones are usually always good. I love to order them fresh by the pound. The staff working the restaurant are really kind and they make it the place feel good and welcoming. I recommend this place all the time. Just make sure you have cash, and if you don't they have an ATM inside.

There barbocoa and carnitas are delicious. It's very difficult to find goid barbocoa in corpus. Adk for pura carne! The carnitas are tender and fall apart. The chicharron is hit or miss. Sometimes they're too crispy, almost like they regeat them in the oil. I ask for a fresh batch when i order by the lb.

Went today for the 4.99 lunch special. Got tamale, enchilada, tostada, rice and beans. It was ok. But needed to add salt which is weird for Mexican food. They only take cash but they have ATM. Staff was nice and I had quick service. Don't think I would go back though.
