This beach was beautiful and we were able to drive our truck on it! The water was so blue. At the end there was a marina that looked cool but we didn't go.

This beach is very clean. You can park & camp anywhere along the road. Nice pier for fishing. Our dogs loved strolling along the sand.

Just like a fruitful fishing hole I hate to share an awesome spot for fear it will get too busy. But Magnolia beach is a special place and I will tell you why. It is free on beach camping in your camper. You park near the waters edge and enjoy sun, sand and surf free for up to 14 days. They have restrooms and a shower ( cold water and outside ) for rinsing the sand off but it is a shower. They have trash receptacles and free pink concrete cabanas a short distance from the beach. All this for free and you meet so many nice people from northern climates escaping winter weather.I will be back to Magnolia beach next year.

Cons: there is only one and it is a bias so it doesn't count for a wider audience. This is a port "beach". Oyster bed shoreline so no real sand, no current or waves of any sort and what felt like a silty slimy floor similar to a lake (not 100% I was wearing aqua shoes). that being said...Pros: In classic Texas beach fashion you drive on the beach. I know this is outrageous to some but welcome to Texas. This beach attracts all kinds of people. I love diversity. What is remarkable about the beach is the ability to camp for 14DAYS! No fees, nada. There did not seem to be any hook ups or sewer so... But people had generators and there are public bathrooms and outdoor showers. The sunsets are nice. I was there the day before 4th of July, it was crowded but not out of control. The people showed up and showed out. There were some real hard core BBQers. I mean restaurant level set ups! There are some venders and beach house rentals but most came to camp. Mid way down the shore line the beach stops the drive up and has a parking lot so the shoreline is free of cars, much safer. There are covered picnic areas, looks like first come first serve. Overall, I would return. It must be real peaceful on non-holiday height of summer days. See you in September Magnolia Beach!

Free camping ON THE BEACH automatically gets 5 stars from me. We boondocked in our RV for two nights. What's boondocking? It's camping without amenities. We have a generator and a full water tank... so, I'll admit that weren't necessarily "roughin' it".I'm surprised that no one has reviewed this gem before! With that said, this is a super popular beach amongst fellow RV'rs, bloggers, and vloggers. There are a ton of online reviews, videos, and info on other sites, all of which were slightly misleading and missing important info. And quite frankly, look like they were from a completely different beach altogether. The first left turn into the beach area has a bridge that has a 10,000 pound weight limit, so if you're coming in with an RV, don't make the first left turn. If you go on down further, make that left and you will arrive through the back side, which leads all the way to the bridge. Apparently if you cross the bridge and are over the limit, you get receive a fine or damage your unit. When we pulled up and discovered that sign and the bridge, my heart sunk. Luckily, we didn't give up and mapped out the other entry way. There are several areas of beach. The public beach area was super busy for such a hot, late August weekend. There seems to be a new limit on the access point. There was a sign posted that said something like "no motor vehicles beyond this point". So, we found a spot near an area that looked like a private beach area. Each area had a cove like area with its own sandy beach between mounds of boulders. One of the locals told us that it's in fact a public area, but one of the locals claims to own it. Soon after we pulled in, he blocked us in with his truck. It was so strange, but it was obvious he was very intoxicated. Besides that and getting the truck stuck in the sand, everything else was perfect.

I hesitate to write such a Stellar review on this beach mostly because I don't want anyone else to Discover It. Free camping, no entrance fees, ample parking, dogs off-leash are welcome as long as they are friendly, the public restrooms were small but clean they also offer an outdoor shower to hose off before you change clothes, theee are also indoor showers but they were out of order when we went. There are covered picnic tables and ample trash cans to keep the are remaining clean. This is perfect for a picnic or a day trip like we took. The people we met were all very friendly, the breeze was wonderful the water was a great temperature and we didn't have a negative aspect of our experience. It's not a bougie over-commercialized Town witch was very pleasant to escape too. It's not a ritzy fancy place, you can tell it's a relaxed fishing band beach Town, Untouched by Resorts and extravagance but for a laid back and great day at the beach or a low-maintenance beach camping weekend it is perfect.

It's fine if you're going to fish but other than that there is absolutely nothing to do in the area. Its kind of ghetto, I suggest Galveston or C.C. p.s. at sundown the mosquitos will carry you off

It was very peaceful. Me and my boyfriend were disappointed because we thought it was an actual beach. Just be aware that there isn't any "real" sand or waves. It's a good area to hang and vibe.
