I have never in my life found tamales that come close to the tamales my grandparents used to make every Christmas. They were made with love and done by hand every time. Last night I tried the tamales here and was immediately transported back to my grandmothers kitchen table, age 10, tasting her fresh tamales on Christmas Eve. The tamales here brought a tear to my eye as I ate them and enjoyed the immense nostalgia they brought me. Thank you so much for being here in San Marcos and reminding me of my childhood. These are the best tamales I have ever found outside my grandparents house. Hands down.

I thank God everyday for Magdalena and her wonderful tamales. My family and I travel from Seguin to have her tamales and they are always gone in a flash. These tamales balance the masa and meat perfectly. They are juicy, savory, and addicting. Magdalena has a variety of tamales including vegan which taste practically like the real deal. Each tamale is filled with love and delicious goodness.

I went here and got the bean and cheese tamales. The taste was great. The service was great. The owners were very kind as well. However, the tamales are extremely small. I was very disappointed in to open the bag and see extremely small tamales. The size is not worth the price.

My very first tamales and vegetarian at that. Both my daughter and I loved them. Got the feeling they were made just for me! So glad I took a wrong turn and ended up at the Art Fair in San Marcos when I did. -Julie, Michigan

Old fashioned home made tamales. I recommend the lunch serving of 3 tamales covered in chile con carne, cheese and onions upon request. A couple of packages of saltines would be nice. A bargain at $6.

Me and my husband wanted something quick to eat for dinner and I was in the mood for tamales. We thought we would try this out and it turned out to be a very good pick and I will for sure be stopping back again!! The spicy tamales were what we ordered and they were delicious. No need to wait for holiday season for tamales when I can go here and get them when i'm in the mood for them!!! I will recommend this food truck to family and friends.

I cannot find the place. Tried maps but not where it took me! I love tamales but I have tried, even asked locals. No one knows where they are located.

We ordered spicy tamales and they're spicy!!! Too spicy for children but perfect for us! They are pretty salty, so make sure to get a water bottle, too. The woman working was very sweet. The only disappointing thing was that they ran out of sauces! I suggest coming during lunch to be able to enjoy your tamales with sauce. I will definitely be coming again.

I've been eating south/central Texas tamales my whole life and the ones from Magdalena's are the real deal. Moist and firm, with just the right proportions of masa and tasty pork. This was our first visit, on a whim when our holiday tamale cravings could no longer be denied. We pulled up and got three dozen in about 5 minutes, took them home and had some right away seeing as how they were already warm.Man, delicious. We'll definitely be regular customers - highly recommended.

First time visiting due to the 5 star reviews. I purchased 2 dozen spicy pork tamales as pretty much everything else was a special order and you had to buy two dozen. The price was $12 or $12.50 a Dozen (can't remember) plus tax. What I purchased were very small in size and were not firm when we opened them. I had to use a fork to eat so I could dip in my tomatillo salsa ( they did not come with any sauce). I did taste some spice but they were rather plain tasting. It definitely needs more masa and pork. I definitely have had better. Would not go back.
