A gem. There's a lot of Tex-Mex places in Galveston, Lupita is our number one favorite, by a lot. Delicious food with a big variety of choices. Tex-Mex favorites and some Central American specialties. The building is old, but as clean as it can be, with some nice original mural paintings on the walls. STAFF IS FANTASTIC. Value for money is excellent. You can't go wrong with a visit to Lupita.

I ordered a lengua taco and a carne guisada. The lengua meat had a dark tint to it and I should have spoken up, I should have also know by the darkness of lengua meat that it wasn't fresh. I ate there a few yrs ago and I asked if it was the same owners and it was not. The new owners took ownership 2yrs ago. Later that evening I got really sick with the food I had eaten. Unfortunately I will not be going back. Side note: the service was great and the AC was cranked up. Really wish I would have had a better experience.

Breakfast or lunch, a surprise burrito will do the trick. Soft fresh hot tortillas with all the fixings. They have a few different options on the burritos, but I like the classic surprise burrito. Comes with eggs, bacon, potatoes, beans, and cheese. To go comes with their red and green salsa. I usually call it in to pick up, but opted to just stop by and order there. Didn't have to wait long and stayed hot until I got home to eat.

This little gem is in the old Compas restaurant location on 45th. The food is good and fresh and the place is clean. We started out with the queso, which was solid. My son loved it as well. I also had the surprise burrito with chorizo. The burrito is huge and is difficult for one to finish. My son had a quesadilla, which he loved. Would definitely visit again.

OK I went there two days in a row first day Menudo a small bowl was pretty good. Second day large bowl of Menudo this time it came kind of cold and did not have a lot of in it. It was mostly just Water soup so I don't know I might try it again the atmosphere it was OK. Kind of bland kind of cold we'll see.

I was on the Island for the weekend and on Sunday I wanted to eat some good Mexican food before I left back into the town. So we drove around till we pulled up on this small house that is also a restaurant. Be aware the parking is on the side of the road and the restaurant is small it it's worth waiting. I ordered the eggs with chorizo, beans and potatoes and my friend got the chilaquiles. All the food he is awesome and so full of flavor and the flour tortillas are hand made. If you are on the island plan to stop and eat breakfast there

For a small cafe- styled restaurant, the experience was unexpectedly impressive. The mood was friendly and laid-back; I refer to it as a taste of Galveston Southern Hospitality. The television played an old-timer (in black and white) Spanish movie that was high on a corner shelf, but eye- catching for all table arrangements. The entire visit was comfortable and worth the short trip into the middle of town.We were immediately greeted by the waiter/hostess/cashier who was very attentive to our needs. Even when I asked the flavors of the Jarritos, she brought out a bottle of each and gave a sample. The chips, salsa and queso is the best on the island! The size of the entree and a`la carte items were well-worth the costs. We were so in "ahhh" when our plates came, we started eating right away; hence, the photos showing half-eaten portions. We left paying reasonably and of course, a doggie bag in tow.

Really great little local place. Classic Tex Mex for affordable prices and guatamalan food. I got the Barria Tacos, they were delicious. The homemade guacamole was tasty too. Their pineapple agua Fresca was to die for! Our server was excellent and super sweet, she was obviously busy but recommended some tasty options. Definitely recommend for some quick tasty mexican food If you're in the area!
