Lupe's Tacos To Go

I'm upgrading to my coveted and rare 5-Star review. The folks here have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND with the customer service and have provided me outstanding service and food - even outside of their normal business hours. I LOVE THIS PLACE!

My wife had tried this place several years ago and told me we needed to try it when we where in area. Today was the day! This is a mom and pop type place with hands down the best lunch I have had in a long time. Our server Thelma was excellent , and that was just a starter for a very good lunch. Food came out quick and hot. It was like you had your mom in the kitchen making it for you. The flour tortillas are excellent as is the hot sauce all homemade. I had the pork chop plate and would get it again hands down, but want to try something else. My wife has the Mexican dinner and kept giving me tastes of everything, all so good. The chips and hot sauce where so good that one could set down and make a meal out of those alone. I would like to say this would be a great place for weekend breakfast, but they are closed on Sat/Sun. It it also one of the cleanest places I have been in.

Everyone in my office raves about the Lupe's breakfast tacos. By the time they wake up and come to the office, I've already eaten and am ready for lunch. I must work with some slackers. Or at least, they get here later than I do. Finally, for some weird reason I had the opportunity to try one of the tacos that they are fanatics about. I missed breakfast and they had an extra. They even had the widely loved "green sauce". Everyone talks about how good it is. I had to go all in: chicken breakfast taco with the green chili sauce. So, now my forehead is sweating and so is my upper lip. My tongue has this mad tingling feeling that spreads from the middle to the sides as well as almost to the tip. It's going thru a shifting wave of heat & tingle from back to front and repeat. Over and over. In a sadist kind of way I'm not sure if the heat is sweet or painful. The mad tingling just goes on and on and on. No amount of water or iced tea is slowing it down. The short hair follicles on top of my head are starting to bath in sweat as I try to dry my head with my bandana. Suddenly, my eyebrows are starting to sweat. I have no idea when this is going to stop. My lower lip now has the post bee-stung numbness without the shock of pain. The chicken meat was seasoned to perfection and the double tortillas were sublime. The sauce however has erased all memories of any past taste on my tongue. All I can feel are the waves of tingle on my tongue and the beads of sweat coming from every hair follicle from the neck up. I'm starting to get torn between two conflicting thoughts: how in the world do they love this stuff and when can I get some more.

I ate at Lupe's for the first time last week while my parents were visiting from out of state. My husband I just recently moved to Texas. In our hometown we realized that the best food was usually served at small family run restaurants. Lupe's was soooooooo delicious. The chips and salsa were exceptional. The salsa was the right amount of flavorful and hot. The chips appeared to made from homemade tortillas and they were served piping hot. Everyone at my table of six ordered something different and everyone raved about how delicious every dish was. I ordered the two enchilada plate. I usually won't order ground beef at restaurants because it's so bland. But at Lupe's the ground beef enchilada was so flavorful, so delicious. I'm pretty sure the corn tortillas were homemade. The enchilada sauce was amazing, rich and creamy. But the best part of the meal was the flavorful, creamy and oh-so-delicious refried beans. The second best part of the meal was the amazing, fluffy, hot, soft, homemade flour tortillas. They were so delicious that my mom ordered a dozen to go. The prices were very reasonable. I'm going to become a regular at Lupe's.

Went today for breakfast tacos. Nothing special for sure. I won't be back. Not worth the cash you spend for just "decent". Only great part was the lady on the phone was super nice and I'm sure it was same lady when I picked up. She was super nice.

Love Love Love Lupe's Tacos!!!! These tacos remind me of my grandfather taco so I love them so much!! Since my grandparents are some what far I don't really get grandpa tacos anymore so when I found this place it was just amazing!!!! Their tortillas are so amazing you can tell they are made with love and homemade is what I love!! I've always just order their tacos today I had their chorizo and potatoes on I love it the potatoes were cute and small and the chorizo was not to much over powering. Some taco come greasy and not this one. I love how the drive thur even though you wait a one to two mins it's super fast, I'm so glad to have found this place and the prices are great $2-$3.75 for a great taco and the portion size is filling you only need two!!! Would definitely recommend this place! Stop reading and go check it out yourself LOL!!

Home made deliciousness!!!! They do charge more for cheese but once gas prices go down I'll stop putting my own cheese in it at home!!

I don't know where to start here. The little lady at the drive thru has got to be one of the sweetest humans I've ever met. I'm not a morning person but she definitely brightened my day. The breakfast tacos are perfect! Homemade tortillas and one taco was good for me. It was absolutely delicious. This will definitely be my new go to taco joint.

Drove down hwy 725 past the Exxon and came upon this Yelp member-reported closed restaurant. Glad I don't take others words; this place was packed including the drive though, as they are rumored to have some excellent carne guisada tacos. I was greeted at the door by a young well spoken son of the owner. He said contrary to popular belief, they have never closed and are open 7am-2pm Tues through Sunday. They have tacos, Mexican plates, and even American items. The place was decorated in a festival motif. It sort of reminded me of the decorations at the Mi tierra Bakery in SA.Try the homemade gorditas, which were seasoned well. I got a chicken and a ground beef one.+++++ Homemade tortillas+++++ Salsa is excellent+++++ Carne Guisada Tender, flavored well with an excellent thick, brown gravy, which was also seasoned very well.+++++ They have a convenient drive through.

Great food. Try the chicken fajitas. It's not fancy but it certainly good. I've only used the drive through but keeping going back for consistent great food.
