Los Gallos Taco House

This place was good! When we walked in we waited about 5 minutes before even being addressed so we were a little annoyed but when the staff came over they were super nice and accommodating. The place was clean and well kept. The parking was a little weird too. The food? Amazing! I got one regular taco and it was huge. The carne guisada was tasty! The hubs got the enchilada plate and raves about it. The salsa was so good, a perfect kick of spice. Would go back again!

Delicious breakfast tacos. The tacos are very big and full of eggs and cheese and bacon. Not skimpy at all. One taco was very filling.

These were amazing tacos and the big ones are MASSIVE! I had a carne Guisada and it was the most carne Guisada I've had including plates.Also had some breakfast tacos and the family loved them!

Amazing food and service! We love this place. It's the best in town. Barbacoa is outstanding.

We heard about this restaurant on social media and wanted to try it. We walked in and were greeted promptly. There were chips and salsa on the table to begin with. I ordered a carne guisada taco. It was a huge taco with lots of meat. The tortilla was home made and you could tell when you bit into the taco. The food was amazing and the service was great.

Stopped here on our way from Austin for breakfast after seeing a recent video on this location. It's located in a small shopping with plenty of parking. When we walked in we were greeted by several waitresses and were promptly seated. The inside is not huge yet had lots of tables. My family and I all ordered tacos. Let's just say I agree with everyone else's review, the tacos are massive and filled. I ordered a potato, egg, bean, and bacon taco. I couldn't even finish it as I was stuffed. I've been to other restaurants where we get a big taco but no flavor. This establishment is not like that! The flavor really hit the spot. I'll definitely be going back!

I have only ordered breakfast tacos Togo from here, but they are AMAZING. 1 taco is the equivalent of 2-3 tacos from any other spot. They are always filled until they barely close and the salsas they have are all delicious. The tortillas are thick, almost like pita, so if you like thin tortillas, be aware.

So it is a Saturday morning at 10 AM and the wife and I happen to be running errands and end up in New Braunfels. Anyone who knows the NB food scene knows this is the prime breakfast window. After going to a few of our regular haunts and finding wait times of 30 minutes to an hour, I brought up my trustee Yelp app and this place came up. So rolling the dice, we ventured to this "new-to-us" spot. This is off a main road in NB. It is in a small strip center next to a CBD dispensary. We arrived. There was lively music playing. The place was pretty full and we were quickly seated. We ordered. I just wanted tacos and ordered 3 of my favs. I ordered a Carne Guisadsa, Barbacoa, and a Bacon and Egg taco - all on flour tortillas. The waitress looked at me and said "the tacos are big". I looked at her and said "OK, take off the Bacon and Egg". That was a good warning for a nubie. They arrived and were huge! They were awesome! The tortillas were tasty. Those of you who like tacos know the tortilla can sink the overall flavor and experience. This place was a pleasant surprise for breakfast! We will be back. If you want a hardy breakfast meal with delicious tacos, stop by. We were glad we did. Cheers!

This place is a great local hot spot. You walk in and seat yourself but the waitstaff is pretty quick to help you and/or let you know they see you and will be right with you. Tables are small and there's a lot going on the tables with salt, pepper, salsa, chips m, etc. Make sure you like your company 'cause you'll be close. There is a lot of room for those small tables to accommodate a big crowd. It's perfect. The chips are grainy and thicker and super delicious. We love the salsa also. They have their salsa blend down to a science. In Texas, you can always tell if the food is good by the chips and salsa. Los Gallos is a long time favorite.One of my favorite things is the HUGE to go cup they bring your drink in & the ice is Texas friendly. It's nice and thick and melt resistant. Lol. I got half sweet and half unsweetened tea. A must for me! Of course if you order barbacoa, it's delicious with a Big Red. We ordered 3 tacos to share between two of us. Even that was a lot of food. We ordered a potato and bean, carne Guisada, and barbacoa. I always have to get my barbacoa with some onion, cilantro and lime. We also got a side of pico de gallo this time. I love how finely chopped everything is. My son got the huevos rancheros. The potatoes are big bites -& the beans have a slight smokey flavor to them. The bacon was crispier than most places and the over easy eggs cooked just right. The ranchero sauce was on top. It was okay but just okay. We won't order it again as we thought it was pretty basic and a better deal to get a taco. The carne Guisada was good. It had huge chunks of tender slow cooked beef. As a matter of preference, it's not my favorite but it was still good and cooked to perfection. The tortillas are homemade and they are some of the thickest tortillas you can find. Some may like that but I'm more of a baby bear kind of tortilla girl. Thick and thin-but I prefer them just right-some where in the middle of those. They are still good but it's almost too much for me. They do help to really fill you up. I'd say the star of the show is the barbacoa. It's seasoned and cooked perfectly. It's not greasy. Los Gallos is one of my favorite places to get barbacoa. Prices are super reasonable for what you get. Like I said, the tacos are huge. I'd say most can barely finish one. The staff is really friendly and helpful. When you are ready just go to the area next to where the waitstaff are placing their orders and they will ring you up there. And enjoy!!!!!

I ordered 2 carne guisada and it was very good now seeing the size in person tho that one taco is more than enough to fill you up
