I will start off by saying that I have been coming to Lone Star since I was a kid and absolutely love this place. My wife and I went last night and our food was fantastic. I ordered the Tri-Tip sirloin sandwich and the steak was cooked perfectly. Very flavorful and juicy. I had a side of fries with my order and the fries were delicious. They were crunchy, hot and not greasy. My wife ordered the pork ribs with a side of cole slaw. The ribs were so juicy, flavorful and tasted great. The cole slaw was a little dry, but it had good flavor. If you still have room for dessert, I'd recommend getting their wonderful peach cobbler with ice cream.

I was in town for business. Found this place on Yelp. In my experience when you walk into a BBQ joint and smell the smoke, the food is usually good. This place did not disappoint. Reasonably price considering recent inflation. Service was very friendly and excellent. Food was exceptional. I had the pig plate with sweet tea and the peach cobbler with ice cream. Really good meal on the road. Will definitely make it a point to come here again if I am in McAllen TX

We have been here 3 times since coming to RGV in january. The sliced brisket and ribs are tender and the flavor is very good. We will continue to eat here until we have to go north. Prices are normal and you will get a good amount to eat.

This place has been here for a long time, so im sure their BBQ was good at one time, but today..it wasn't. I had the two meat plate with and ice tea...but $19 bucks..yeah..way too much for this. The brisket was dry, had no color..the chicken was also dry..the beans and potato salad were not good either. The only good thing about my lunch was the tea..I give it a thumbs up..but the rest..no thank you..I will not be visiting this place ever again.

Ordered several items for carry out for a family dinner. Everything was wonderful and everyone enjoyed our meal. The food was ready and packaged very well for transport and keeping it hot. One employee helped me out to the car with my order of several racks of ribs, brisket, Turkey, catfish, charro beans, and sauce. Each rib had a lot of moist meat on them and we all loved it was not overly salty. The Turkey was very moist and smoked, the brisket was devoured. I ordered catfish for me as I do not usually eat meat (exception to the rule here) and my husband, the rib man, wanted all my catfish. Beans were wonderful and not overly salted. The sauce was on point. I appreciated the care and attention to detail each employee demonstrated. Ordered catfish again a week later so my husband could partake on his own and he loved it.

We have visited this BBQ joint a couple times previously and enjoyed it. But this visit the food was incredible. I highly recommend the sliced beef plate with the potato salad and fried okra. I have to say, this is by far the best fried okra I have ever eaten! And I'm a pretty picky person. The beef was just about perfect, not any fat (I hate fat). The roll comes with the plate and it taste homemade...if not it is still a very tasty roll. To the owner's of this establishment please keep up the good work.

Quaint and absolutely abulous. From the design of the place to make it look like a shack yet in the details you can see it is meticulously cleaned. Owner greeted us upon coming on the door and we felt like it was visiting a friend's house.Service was impeccable and quick albeit non pretentious as it should be.Food was outstanding, however must make special mention of the pork ribs, heavenly.Well worth to go our of your way to visit

Just picked up a delicious sliced brisket sandwich & fries & took it home to eat. Great sandwich, great staff! Support local!Car fish here is the bomb!
