We are having a new home built so I made an appointment with a Live Oak representative named Casey. We set up a meeting time and place (one of the homes they completed on the south side). When we arrived, the home was open but Casey was not there. He had another person show up who couldn't answer any questions about the build process... He basically knew nothing and our time was wasted. This person just said "Casey has me sit on houses so people can see them". When I asked why Casey stood us up the man just said "Casey has kids and likes to do things with them". We set aside time to meet with Live Oak and they flaked on us without even calling to cancel. I left my number with the person and I never received a call from Casey or from any other Live Oak representative. We did find another builder and we will be breaking ground on our 2800 square foot home in a few weeks.

They will build you a decent house but they won't service it. Zero returned phone calls after you close.

I would not recommend Live Oak Construction to anyone. The company does not stand behind their work whatsoever. We have a 3 year old home that we purchased 6 months ago, thinking Live Oak was a quality builder, boy were we wrong. Just a couple of months after being here we began having plumbing issues, which 2 separate companies have confirmed. Upon asking for some information regarding the 10 year warranty they claim to provide, we have gotten nowhere. Multiple employees have ignored us, even after providing them with all of the information they have asked for in regards to the situation. Their Superintendent,Aaron Vice, has ignored my phone calls and emails since May 3 2019 after providing him the exact information he had asked for. He, nor any employee of this company has the decency to even contact us to say they can or can't help us on the situation. Funny thing is, the only thing I have asked for from day 1 is to know what the warranty covers. We had my wife call Mr Vice just minutes after he once again did not answer my phone call, and amazingly he answered here call without issue. He then proceeded to inform my wife that he is ignoring me because he has no new information for me, and in a round about way informs her that he will do the same to her. After receiving the full plumbing report they asked for, and their plumbing contractor D&J Plumbing actually talking directly to my plumbing company, both Aaron Vice and Richard Voss claim I have no issue with my plumbing. Oddly David Sandoval (Owner of D&J Plumbing) refused my offer to come and take a look at everything himself, stating it was not necessary is another company has already looked into the situation. So, if you want to spend upwards of $300,000 on a home, and then in just a few short years invest more than $10,000 into fixing faulty installation/poor craftmanship, all the while being ignored by a company who claims "Our commitment to you goes well beyond a contract. It is in providing you with constant support, attention to detail and incomparable customer service throughout your building experience. Our exceptional quality and outstanding craftsmanship ensure your dreams become a reality in a Live Oak Construction Custom Home built for a lifetime.", then this is the company to use. Otherwise there are numerous other builders who actually do provide a quality product, do stand behind their work, and do have the decency to return phone calls/emails.

I had my house built in 2017 by Live Oak and had a great experience! We have a beautiful home with no issues whatsoever! Communication and customer service were excellent, start to finish! I have recommended Live Oak to friends and family members who have all LOVED our home! Several have built with Live Oak since and have been pleased as well. When we are ready to build again, we know who we will be calling!! Thanks again Live Oak for building the home of my dreams!

My husband and I have had nothing but issues from the time construction started until after we moved in. There are several items in our home that we are waiting for the contractors to come back and repair. We are still waiting for the final inspection/ walk through and we moved in several months ago. They will assign a Project Manager to assist us, and within a few weeks that person is either fired, or won't return calls. The people hired to build these homes clearly cut corners. It is absolutely appalling. Our neighborhood has several vacant lots which this company is responsible for maintaining. It took myself, and a neighbor several calls to their office and the City of Corpus Christi in order for them to come out and finally mow the lots- that had weeds over 6ft tall. Had we known previously of the unscrupulous business practices they have, we would have certainly gone with another construction company such as Hogan, or Braselton. We won't be making this mistake again. Homebuyers beware of Live Oak Construction. Do your research. Speak to homeowners. Ask for referrals.
