This park visit was a quick day trip for us and my friends' 2 small kids.... I would visit again.... as it was very family- friendly. Bathrooms close by, not to mention the splash pad and playground area was a hit! The tiki hut pics I posted were pretty dreamy and initially what drew me to the park - however I wouldn't say this is the best looking sand/water. If you're looking for pretty sand beach and clear water ... keep searching. Would be a cool spot to camp though! Camp and RV sites were available!

I grew up in Port Lavaca so I lived only 5 minutes away from this beach. It's $3 a day and $12 annually. Not the best beach in the world. I mean, c'mon this is Texas where the sand is brown and the water is murky. Not the best fishing spot, mostly catfish but I heard if you come during the day you can catch trout. It's suggested to not eat from these waters since 3 chemical plants do surround the bay but I grew up just fine and no one has ever gotten sick.Back then the boardwalk use to be all wood but it burned down so it's been renovated. A lot of locals come here to go running after the sun sets. There's also a big 'bird house' on the other side of the beach. The beach itself has been cleaned up now. They even put in grass umbrella's on the beach this past year and picnic tables.

We love this park. We have been coming down here for 3 years on vacation. We retired recently and bought land down here. Not very many places to eat at but you can drive to Victoria for the chain restaurants. The attendants are great older people that care about you. They only have monthly, weekly and one nite spots. If you call ahead the same day they will hold your spot. So, if you come in and see the Orange cone in a spot people are coming in that night. They have 4 daily spots. They are down by the peer.

A little small, but offered shade for us beach travelers. The waves were small, the silt in the water was on the smelly side. Nothing the owners could do but if you are going for quality beach experience you should know. There is a cute splash pad and pier like others have said but we were there for the beach. Not to crowded so that was nice. Good for relaxing for a few hours. Bathrooms like a state park. 5$ parking fee per car is reasonable. Parking is close to the beach.

A beach with boardwalk, bird viewing, rv spaces, boat ramp, fishing pier, and picnic areas. Most common fish caught off the pier are black drum, speckled trout, red drum, and catfish. The boardwalk is an excellent place to walk for enjoyment, to birdwatch, or to exercise. Not too crowded unless it is a peak day in the summer. Overvall a good small town beach park area with above average amenities.

good place to come for a swim, only about 200 yards of sand but next nearest beach is about 20 miles away. get here early if you want a cabana or picnic table to reserve because there are limited spots! big rv camping area, piers for fishing, volleyball nets, and swimming pool open to public. cost is only $3 a day per car! or you can get an annual pass for $12 I believe. pretty good deal!I wouldn't say its a huge tourist spot most people we ran into were locals. go the extra 20 miles if you have the chance to magnolia beach, it's 2-3 miles of beach and good shelling from what we've been toldnot sure what camping prices are.

Great location, great stay. Camp host Jen is super. After being off the grid for seven nights, I needed a full hookup spot. It was super getting all the laundry done. Be sure to bring your binoculars; the bird watching is amazing. Jen said they're remodeling the bathrooms (nice and clean) and showers (unfortunately vandalized). This spot is on my radar for next winter when I return to the Gulf Coast.

Sand is sharp with glass and shells water dried all the way muddie honest scam. If you come here nature walk is mainly bird poop and glass bottles would rather go to an oil rig.
