Let Them Eat Cake

Sad. Just sad. This place looks warm and inviting from the outside, looking like it will give you a meal to stick to your ribs, but it's quite the opposite. First off, it is extremely cold in there, and it's cold in Corpus Christi currently, which leads me to believe their hvac system doesn't work to keep the place tempered. We sit down and notice a cat, so do not come here if you are allergic to cats. The menu was quite sparse, and while it was very straightforward on what to expect, it was still surprising and extremely disappointing when we received our meals. My husband ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich. He received two slices of store-bought bread (should be noted because their page says everything is scratch), some slices of turkey, and a slice of cheese, all looking like it came from H‑E‑B. The sandwich, that came with a bag of chips, was $7.25. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a bag of chips, $8.50, which also seemed like it came from the grocery store. It took about 20 minutes to receive all of this, which was quite odd considering we were the only two customers in the place. One star because the chicken salad was good.

The tomato basil quiche is excellent, it tastes like a pizza. Fabulous salad made with nutritious greens and delicious raspberry dressing. Top notch service. Michelle is very warm and welcoming.

Birthday cake was a mess. It was supposed to be a mermaid cake and it was literally just 2 chocolate tails (one cracked and broken) sticking out of the top of the cake. The owner was very rude, makes sense now by other reviews. Obviously I'm not the first to have a problem with her work. Piping was separated from cake, sloppy half assed work. $60 and only good for the trash. Lesson learned, read reviews first. Disrespectful owner, she wasn't wearing a face mask during MANDATORY face masks for Covid. Pretty safe assumption that there is no mask wearing while baking and decorating cakes. Horrible experience!!!! No way to treat your customers. Never again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We got a cake from them for our wedding and 50 cup cakes. When we had someone else pick up the cake they didn't know the cupcakes were the wrong color and did not match the cake! When I called to find out a solution for this issue Michelle, the owner was rude, had an attitude and refused to offer even a partial refund. We did not have time to go back and have them fixed. Honestly the color isn't the end of the world. It won't matter tomorrow, it's the fact that Michelle was rude and unprofessional. She didn't care that this is our wedding day and the cupcakes were the wrong color because she didn't write it down. I even sent a picture of exactly what I wanted and she continued to argue that it was my fault that I didn't call her to verify. As an owner I would think you would want to make sure everything was right before giving products to a client. I would also like to add we paid for this 5 months in advance. WILL NOT RECOMMEND OR RETURN.

Awesome food and friendly service! The dining area was a bit dim and quiet but I really enjoyed the peaceful environment.

They made what turned out to be my son's favorite cake ever. I ordered a Pineapple cake to be delivered on his birthday and it not only arrived right on time, but it was exactly as ordered. Very polite staff and obviously talented. Will definitely return. Highly recommend!

The staff was nice and friendly when I walked in. I placed my order (a ham n cheese sandwich) and it took about 20min. In that time, I got a chance to really look at the place and it was very sad. It's a shame because it has so much potential. I took my order to go. when I finally got the chance to eat, I opened the to go box and it was a very sad sandwich that I could've made better at home. It was regular sandwich bread you'd buy from the store with the cheese and meat pressed. no lettuce tomato and I had to put the condiments on myself. I don't recommend this place for their sandwiches.

My chicken crepe was edible but nothing like chicken crepes I had eaten, previously. I was disappointed. There was very little flavor to the crepe. The salad was adequate. The thousand island dressing very good. My friend had the spinach & cheese crepe and it was so yucky, she took 3 bites and returned it to the kitchen. No replacement entree was offered to her and no discount applied. I will not return.

We ordered a cake that was supposed to look like a mermaid for a guest of ours whose Granddaughter was celebrating her 5th birthday. What we got was sloppy and didn't look at all like a mermaid. Piping was not done well. Just overall sloppy. We will never buy from this place again. Had my fiancée in tears she was so embarrassed. We should get our money back. Really really horrible. And owner had crappy attitude as well.

The owner is nice .. We went there to sample the cake flavors plus the gluten free cake they tasted amazing .. But unfortunately the wedding cake was crooked lopsided.. N the grooms cake was a 1 layer chocolate cake that was practically cardboard.. it didn't taste anything like what we sampled.. We dnt recommend this place for special occasion cakes .. i was highly disappointed n the guest at the wedding were saying how horrible the cake was .. I dnt think this was the same product we sampled.. it was very expensive for what it was I believe HEB or Walmart have better cakes .. Maybe the Mansion by the sea should not have them on their list of cake places to order .. the wedding was very boogie for such low quality cake
