Unfortunately, due to the lack of rainfall in 2024 the lake is rather low. Swimming is not recommended and the boat ramp is closed since the water is way too low to make entry. Other than that, the park is fully operational. Spent a couple of days tent camping. It was quiet and peaceful. There was minimal wildlife at this time. Interesting birds in the bird feeder/trail area. RV camping with hook ups, screened in shelters, climate controlled cabins, and day use (picnic ) areas fully available. Bathrooms, some with full showers, available throughout the park. Some of the bathrooms do need maintenance attention, but overall clean and in good shape. The park has two walking trails that are very manageable for beginners, one is a 1 mile loop that travels in One Direction making it nice for both hikers and bicycles to navigate. Second trail is about 1 mile in One Direction and 1 mile back with two way traffic but still Accessible enough by both hikers and bicyclesStaff was very friendly throughout the stay.

My family loves this State Park. It's the closest State Park to the Rio Grande Valley so it's now our favorite below Austin. The park has tons of camping spots for tent campers and RVs as well with full hookup sites. They also have about 6 cabins and a dozen or so covered shelters that are screened all the way around. Shelters will run you $25 a night, while the cabins with AC are $50 a night. Camping spots are about $15-$20 depending on your hook-up needs. Everything can be reserved one or at the office if you happen to be checking on daily availability. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards from a self help area near the fishing pier. Haven't fished, but it looks like there are plenty in these waters. Water is nice enough to swim in during the many warmer months of the year that this area gets. The area has a few walking trails, a bird watching area and plenty of picnic areas around the water. There are two small towns nearby. Mathis about 15min one way. Orange Grove about 15min the other way. Alice is bigger, but that one is about 25min away. Corpus Christi is about 45min away. A great park to visit for the day or for an extended camping stay.

Love this lake. Hidden gem. Sandy bottom. Clean light green freshwater. Limestone cliffs. Swaying mesquite. Plenty of deep water and not too much bulkhead. Does catch a lot of wind and that can be a plus or minus depending on water sport you do.

Lake Corpus Christi State Park was very busy on a holiday weekend. There are lots of covered picnic tables right on the lake and it seemed like most were being used. If you like fishing, this state park is for you. I didn't see any catches while I was there but maybe the parties were already cooking them up on the grill. Boats and jet skis are allowed on the lake in certain areas. There is a big metal dock where a lot of fishers were gathered. This park is not so much about the hikes and more about being right on the water.

Swimmin' in the fishin' hole! This is a really nice park, about forty five minutes away from the actual city of Corpus Christi. It's out in the country, so it's a quiet park. The park is mainly situated around the lake, which is in a no wake zone, so it helps keep it quiet. There's a big birding community around this park. There's lots of nature trails that are fun to explore either on foot or on a bike. I found a bird shelter set up by the National Audubon Society, and even a big roadrunner (Meep! Meep!) When I went, Catfish Trail was pretty torn up. I went on bike, and found that whoever was clearing out the place was in the middle of things, and had left railroad ties out across the middle of the path around blind corners and paths that lead to nowhere where they're just clearing out things. The restrooms and facilities were in rather good condition, were clean and operable. There's a fishing dock here, or you can even rent a paddle board or a kayak for $18/hr from an automated kiosk, which is cool. There's plenty of beaches to lounge around on, and even a boat dock if you wanna load in a watercraft. The park rangers were nice and kept their distance. They all gave a big wave and a howdy when they passed by, which is pleasant.

Been coming here since I was a little kid and I love this place! From the trails, to the fishing, and swimming. Love love love this place ! Shelters have truly upgraded over the years and now have two twin beds and a nice cute table! Will be bringing my little ones here when they are old enough to continue the amazing camping experience

Nice park and friendly staff. Lots of wildlife like deer and speed chickens. Only downside is people are taking a nice place for granted and leave their trash laying around. Park staff can only do so much with a park this size.
